Just like to say i had a cracking night at this show. The Scott Taylor Steve Swinburn fight was a quality fight and showed how european level kickboxing should look. I was really impressed wih Scott who showed top class skill, variety, composure and ringcraft. I hope that he begins to get the matches and recognition he deserves. I'd particularly like to see him and Ryan Hamer in action!!
I was gutted for Steve who gave the best performance i have ever seen from him and i agree he will definately be back, he proved undoubtedly that he belongs at this level.
Of the other fights i really enjoyed Big Niges fight which was close right up to the end, unfortunately fitness let him down on this occasion but he showed that he could mix it at that level.
Leif also showed more snap and power than i have seen from him before with all the same skill and mobility that we are accustomed to from Leif. His increased strength is a good sign he is maturing physically and i think he is perhaps now too experienced and mature to be fighting opponents in the 14/15yrs age bracket so it will be nice to see him start to fight opponents his own age in future. He's a real talent at Thai so ive no doubt he'l be successful there.
Have to add also that the MC was excellent and the whole organisation and presentation of the show had a real professional feel to it so well done to the promotional team.
On another note i was surprised at some of the decisions which were anounced as split. The Greg Darmon fight imo was won hands down by Greg who looked sharp yet it was announced as a split decision if i remember rightly which means that one judge gave it the other way!!?? I dont think Greg even lost an exchange let alone a round imo.
