"make some noise it helps "

I read about a breathing technique to be used when you are trying to catch your breath during strenuous exercise. It's where you tighten the mouth and restrict airflow and then exhale really hard so it makes a noise. The result (supposedly) is a build-up of pressure in the lungs which causes the oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange to be more efficient. I dunno what exactly is going on, but I've tried this technique a number of times when I exercised until I felt out of breath and it did feel like I was able to recover my breathing really quickly after that and get my "second wind".

I've seen something similar used in Yoga.

Yeah, I also remember having a breakthrough with my endurance when I learned of the importance of exhaling completely. Exhaling well is so vital.
