I think it makes some difference but 3 or 4 weeks is a little excessive imo.
I also don't think its a huge dif.. I also think a little logic... lets say you trained well and your a bit stressed, as long as its not really late or a marathon I think you'd be better off having sex.

Some of it probably stems from loosing life force (Qi, prana, ki etc) through ejaculate. I think a drop of ejaculate is suppose to have 1000 times more Qi than a drop of blood. (long time ago I heard the numbers the point is supposedly there is a lot more qi per drop you are loosing.) Some people will be very careful who they give that to or what they do with it.

I think sex can be a great form of active recovery :) Even if there is something to it... I still think there is always a time and place for sex (I mean a time a place for anything :P)
