Mr Smith
I note an interesting point you mentioned about Dekker. "He trained in Thailand a lot and couldn't have done as well without understanding MT." Yes, he understood it then tweaked his own game to beat it on many, many occasions. I think UK MT is so wrapped up in being EXACTLY like Thailand that a strategy beyond that is unthinkable. It's almost a train of thought of "If the Thai's don't do it then it's wrong" and because of that it restricts our guys
Not sure there is any secret mythical stance but this line out of your own comments is exactly what I am talking about
"Every time our fighters fight at this level I see ways that our training needs to be adapted and we will go back to the gym and work on what we have learned. Liam still gets better with each fight. The Thais are fighting at this level week in week out"
It's whether or not instructors just copy it or look at a way that within the MT rules and scoring criteria it can be beaten.
Dekker and Ronnie Green both where awesome but part of that was born out of just thinking outside the box.
I think we have guys now who can just be as awesome and no matter how much you may not like my point of view I still believe it is the mindset of the trainers that ulitmatley holds them back.
