This sounds like it could be a flexor tendon injury and minor surgery may be the answer, not all physio's do hand therapy as a rotation and therefor lack the ability to diagnose the problem.

I would look up a hand surgeon through a private clinic or have your GP refer you. (not sure how the system works out there)

Look up flexor tendon of the hand, see what your symptons are aginst the ones listed.

If this is the problem you would prob need surgery and this would mean post op following a flexor tendon rehab program, and the wearing of a splint to limit too much movement.
