Serious Subject

I'm looking at starting a class soon and I am wondering about insurance and liability and what is covered by the insurance and any student signed disclaimers. I read somewhere the student signed disclaimers are useless if the injury is long term or was the result of an excessive kick or punch, is this true and if so what are the liabilities of the instructor?
