Thank you Vinny, Masons fitness and conditioning is usually his strong point in fights and always finishes strong but at 48hours notice he threw the bout away in round 5, a fair few people who dont really understand the sport said they thought he had won but he lost clear, Rob scoring well with body kick then nice footwork to stay out of harms way. There will be a rematch at a lighter weight with proper prep and it will be a great fight.
It is a shame to lose judges as they are hard to come by and lets face it nobody wants to spend a whole day travelling and judging a show for about £70 and then get it in the neck about any minor slip up. I must say that a few of the bouts were very close which is due to good matchmaking on the part of the promoters and there is a slight grey area in these very close bouts for some judges, this does still happen in a small percentage at the stadiums but rematches are soon scheduled and it ups the interest in the bout and the betting. If it means we get a few rematches like Howson v Trainor then im all for it as they make for cracking fights.
