According to IFMA, in the A Class in World and International Games competition, the body protector is no longer going to be used. B Class... yes.
Headgear... need the illusion of safety that the head gear brings for the international community and MuayThai's international acceptance. Everyone dislikes the head gear but it does have some merit in a tournament situation like this when you fight 2 or 3 times in a week!
Very impressive event. Great fighters. Thailand was the strongest with 3 gold medals. No other country received more than 1 gold medal.
Pro's vs. Amateurs... the goal was to impress the international community with the best MuayThai athletes out there. Those who were needed to be impressed, were! Big step forward for IFMA and IOC recognition.
Artem was very hungry for revenge against Yod and he got it.
The event was extremely well planned and well run.
A great time was had by all!
