Dave,

I am currently doing some research on the junior muay thai and will comment on it in the future.

As for Juniors in the UK being allowed to do head contact:

not an issue with it as long as full protection is worn, medical crew and doctor present, as well as child protection officers supervising the event and fully trained officials and referees.

the JFCC is doing this and I have attended both their events this year with some of my juniors fighting on it. the events were the safest i have attended yet and with my own daughter competing on both events I felt that the whole event was controlled professionally and safely.

i seen many mismatches, bloody noses, knockouts, broken ribs at light contact shows both here and in the uk......
