Yer missing a vital point Hawkman .... the celebs are there to draw attention to the charity in question. I've been to quite a few chrity sportsmans dinners, the best by far and away was the one I watched Ricky Hatton at. He gave his time, merchandise and his own money to the event and was there the whole evening unlike some 'celebs' who turn up for an hour or so.. He didn't need or have to do it, but nonetheless, he did.
He also doesn't spout vociferously the charity work he does as opposed to some plastic celebs who mention 'Their charity work' in every other sentence.
Hatton was a great ambassador for British Boxing, shame he's let himself and others down by succumbing to the marching powder. Everyone makes mistakes, apart from one person and they put him on a cross !!!
He's only human and obviously has weaknesses, so I for one, hope he quits the habit and gets back to being the bloke I met on that particular evening .... extremely funny, approachable and basically, very down-to-earth.
