well i think the police are overpaid and do very little, i've personaly been attacked while the police sat back and watched, their response was it was dangerous for them to intervene??? excuse me they are paid to protect the public and uphold the law, that's why they get cheap houses, that's why they have well paid comfortable jobs with great pensions, most police work solving crimes is either solved with cctv(more public expense) or a member of joe public that will inform

the police response is, you will be caught now can the public please inform on these hooligans and do the police's job

they have let the poor areas burn while protecting the wealthy areas, it's the same old story , the have's and the have not's, they then blame the poor people for all the problems? really?? the last riots in which our future king was attacked was mostly public school louts that were raised in £ million homes, the jumped up son of a rock star got 18 months for nearly killing people, switch the script and it's some poor(not wealthy) wee chav or ned and you can change that sentance to 5 years

what the police have done in these riots and thousands of other times across the country is sat back and watched crime and attacks taking place while they do very little, it's the equivalent of a presidential or royal bodyguard cashing the £2-3,000 per week wage and when there's a bullet fired running the other way to protect themeselves

i've had friends that have joined the poilce, they were mild mannered, friendly people that worked in IT, within months of joining the police they would talk of the excitement of their jobs? wtf thrill seeking perverts? as they are getting rushes/kicks from people's suffering and how they couldn't wait to whack somebody with their truncheon next weekened??? this is the same person that if trouble kicked off in a pub they would run a mile and hide under a table, now in a uniform and weapon ready to have it? but that's only if numbers are on side...hardly a brave career choice is it?

society has a lot to answer for, we're too quick to blame the poor, the police need an overhaul and we need police with criminal records struck off from the police, no grey area, black and white like it is for the rest of society, no lean sentances for a wealthy lawyer while bob the builder gets the book thrown at him, this is the opportunity for the injustices in the country to be challenged but i fear it will be manipulated and blamed on a certain portion of society, we didn't see the same scorn poured on the etonians and public schoolboy and wealthy rioters that were throwing bricks and metal bins from the tops of buildings and attacking the royals, yet we're blaming the poor here

i'd be happy if the police wage was reduced by 30-50% and the savings passed onto public sector workers that actually do their job, ambulancemen, firemen, nurses, lifeguards, the real hero's

the violence and looting is appauling and an embarresemnet to our country, the fear the people in the communities that have been under attack must have fealt must be horrific, the police and the governement have let us down, these are the same people that all the working classes will be paying for a comfy retirement for the rest of their lives yet they are clearly inadequate, in the private sector you're expected to actually do the job you are paid to do

hahahah rant over
