Billy, you're talking some sense there mate! Apart from the Police wages thing which is a bit absurd. The poor are always the easiest to blame as they have no voice (that sounds cheesey)

Whilst I do think the looters are just, sick, thrill seeking, criminal opportunist scum, who are smashing up their own communities. I do think it leaves a lot of questions as to why they are doing this now?????

Sh!t lots of government cuts, fuel and food costs have gone through the roof whilst the majority of people have less money. Youth clubs and community organisations are thinner on the ground than they have ever been. Unemployment is the highest it's been in years. The standard of inner city schools are a joke. We have a society that worships consumerism and 'things' and people who have 'things'; like footballers and rap stars. This is perpetuated by advertising and sick celebrity magazines wherever you look.

Sandy you can't blame dole bludgers and immigrants for everything as you always seem to do when ever anything like this is discussed. I just think you're simplifying things. Just for the record I have never signed on in my 39 years on this earth, neither has any member of my immediate family.

The government has a lot to answer for; increasing the cost of living for the majority whist planning tax cuts for the rich and allowing tax avoidance on a criminal scale to unchecked.

I'm no bleeding heart socialist and have been sickened by the scenes as much as you all but I think it highlights deeper problems this country has, that 'sending in the army' will not cure.
