Phoenix, I agree that the police are an institutionally racist organisation. But what I will say is that it's racism in a way that 90% of the public don't know. They assume the police are simply out to get all non whites etc. in the stereotypical neo-nazi ish fashion but that's simply not true.

What the issue is, is that people bandy about the term "institutionally racist" without knowing what it actually means. It's not the individual police' opinions or doings, what makes the organisation racist are the rules and regulations sent down on from on high. The attitudes nurtured among the force and the consequences thereof.

This has nothing to do with the london riots however. All I know is that it's claimed that the boy they shot was shooting at them first. I'm sorry, if I'm only getting paid 21k a year then i aint letting some dickhead without two braincells to rub together and a deep resentment for society that's been bred into him simply because of the area he's grew up in shoot at me without defending myself. If he was shooting at police the little fucker got everything he deserved.

Without going into the race issue much as I don't think it's really the root of the problem, you're defending the whole racial minority segment far too much when the bottom line is that most areas that have been hit by the rioting and looting are areas high in ethnic minorities. Indeed, I don't think I've seen a single picture where the majority of the looters are white. Now whilst london does indeed have huge populations of asians, black britons etc. the white's are still very much the vast majority.

Race isn't the real reason for these riots however. I believe the initial protest stems from that. But the riots as we have em now stem from sociological and community problems which are way outside the capabilities of our government to deal with.

You have probably the most relaxed immigration laws in the world besides mexico and provide ridiculous benefits to everyone in the country who doesn't have a job then it's only a matter of time before the scum rises.
