Thai Airways used to be a top class airline. I'm sure that the level of service provided is still top class, but they're getting left behind in all areas by the middle eastern airlines with their new planes and international staff.

I've not noticed that Thai are particularly cheap either. Things like free drinks are standard on the major airline's scheduled flights and you can always go and get a drink from the galley area on any flights if you ask.

Like Sandy, the alcoholic drinks don't really interest me but I do like to have my own individual screen and movies on demand.

There's no direct flights from Manchester, but I quite like the break as long as it's not too long.

Over the years I've flown with most of the airlines. Price and connections are a big deciding factor, but for the past few years i've mostly used the middle eastern airlines.
