Return of Fighting Network Rings (Reincarnation)

RINGS UK Press Release 14/02/12.

It is with great delight to announce the return of the pioneering Japanese MMA promotion Fighting Network Rings. Rings was founded by Akira Maeda in the early nineties and became one of the leading J-MMA promotions producing and featuring the now known great fighters like Fedor, Overeem, Henderson, Couture and Nogueira to name a just a few.

Over the years Rings featured many titles and championship matches from Mega Battle Tournaments, King of Kings to Open weight Tournament titles.

Rings will return to Japan with the Battle Genesis (REINCARNATION) series in 2012 with matches featuring fighters from Japan, Russia, Australia and the UK.

Rings is a worldwide network which also features the return of Rings UK with the inclusion of former Rings fighter Lee Hasdell as president. Rings UK will be sending teams of UK fighters to Japan and will also host Rings events in the UK. Rings UK introduced Japanese fighters to the UK and was the original MMA promotion and pioneered MMA within the UK.

The return of Rings will mark a new era in the world of Mixed Martial Arts and we wish the founder Akira Maeda well in his pursuit to put Japanese MMA back on the world map.
