Ideally your trainer should be the one to approach you, if you feel you are happy to fight then ask your trainer to find you a fight, he/she will either agree and find you one or tell you that you are not ready.

8 years ago I made my amateur debut in MMA after only a couple of months training, my first fight I got choked out and woke up on the floor about 45 seconds in to the first round. I wasnt ready to fight but thought I was. 6 months later I took my second fight and won.

Best speak to your trainer IMO.
