Thought I would share this because it is kinda funny. A friend of mine is a server admin where my websites are hosted (including Ax). All of my servers went out at the same time. His team had to work all night to get everything back and running.

So what happened? Well, some drunk people drove around town firing their shotguns randomly and they hit the fiber optic cable, which is the main Internet feed for the hosting company. Unfortunately, there wasn't a redundant cable setup yet (the cable is in place, but not enabled yet).

When my friend tried explaining to his manager that the fiber line is broken somewhere, the manager didn't believe it, so they didn't call in the fiber repair people right away. Of course, nobody was expecting to find shotgun pellets in the cable.

Anyway, we're back up. Yay 'murica!
