matthew goulden - you only ever look as good as your opponent lets you and against Greg, Panicos certainly didnt look great. I'm certainly not suggesting he's not an amaizing fighter but I was at the fight with Greg and I didn't see anything, on that occasion, that made me think it was close and I'd like to see a rematch. I think they have both improved since then but its not at the moment one one MY most exciting matches.
I was also at the Turner fight and I thought that was much closer. Greg is usually very strong in the clinch and it was interesting to see Luke take him down a couple of times and I though he was doing very well. At some point Greg landed a VERY solid elbow from a continuation that changed the direction of the fight. It would be interesting to see how the fight would have panned out if that single shot was removed from the equation as Luke did look strong. But, Greg also had to fight through a horrendous early cut and it may also be interesting to see how much better he could of done if that telling elbow hadn't of landed - either way, a rematch here is a far me exciting prospect, for ME.
One thing that was interesting watching the Luke Vs Greg fight was how similar they both were. Almost identical in height, physique and even style. I think this leaves Laim with an amaizing style-specific sparing partner in the camp. Greg will find it much harder to find a Liam replica to train against. I wonder if that will make an impact in the final result.
Either way, although Greg's is an underdog on paper, I wouldn't write him off and I cant think of anyone better deserving to take on the UK's top Nak Muay. And again, I think Liam deserves much applauds for accepting the domestic match which could easily of been swerved. A great match - I cant wait for the 7th June.
