In a change to the fight card, unfortunately Darren O’Connor has been forced to withdraw from his planned contest with Panicos Yusuf due to injury. Whilst this is out of our hands and these thing happen in the fight game, we don’t like to disappoint and have worked hard over the past couple of days to find Panicos a more than credible opponent in Dutch star Sergio Wielzen. Wielzen is from a fighting family and some of you may remember his uncle Theo Wielzen, one of the early stars of Dutch Muay Thai, who beat Ronnie Green in Holland and also fought for a European Title in England against Humphrey Harrison, rocking Humphrey early doors before being knocked out with a head kick. Sergio comes to the stage with vast experience and several big scalps under his belt, having fought on some of the world’s biggest stages such as Glory and It’s Showtime. A first round knockout win over Anuwat Kaewsamrit a few years ago set him up for further fights against some of the sports elite and since then he has shared the ring with Kaoponlek, Mickael Paynaud and Houcine Bennoui, among others. His fast, aggressive fighting style has seen him build an impressive record which reads 38 wins from 50 fights, with 22 by way of (T)KO and he is relishing this opportunity to test himself against another world class opponent in Panicos.

We are obviously disappointed by the loss of DOC but we are happy that this is a quality replacement and, in the words of Panicos’ own coach, 'an even harder fight'
