"Dean is nothing special"
How do you define special? What is your personal preference/criteria when thinking of a "special" fighter?
Technique?
Dean has for years been one of the most technical fighters on the circuit, the fact he has to date beaten a number of fighters with 2,3 times his ring experience and infact was voted the "most technical fighter" some years ago by fighters magazine kinda makes that point
Who he's beaten?
In his first 7/8 fights he beat the number one in at least one division in the UK, within his next few fights he beat Sevastian Ocana (pos) and in about his 15th he beat Varats (100+ fights) for a European title in the division above his. Cleared out a few touted Europeans without breaking much of a sweat then clearly beat another TOP tier fighter with 3 times the experience in Andy Howsen.... Twice . Very close loss (his first genuine loss, the Irish lad was a robbery see the footage) by a point to Rungravee, avenged next time out with a stoppage.
He is without a doubt the best 55kg fighter in the world outside of Thailand
What makes him "special", in my eyes all the above, the fact he fights from 54-58 to test himself and wins, in style. Or the fact he is the most humble fighter iv met, which may explain why he doesn't get the opportunities he should, if you look at mainstream sports stars, it's not just their abilities in their chosen fields but their story along the way that sets them apart. Raj, take a few minutes and you will see what I mean.
Jordan and Liam are also "special" some of the reasons are similar some are different I suppose it's an individual thing
