KTMMA 3 announces 4 major additions to its line-up.

As the epic KTMMA 3 England versus China card takes shape we are pleased to announce four excellent matches; two under full KTMMA rules, two under WLF rules but all guaranteeing explosive action. The KTMMA bouts will feature unbeaten KTMMA veteran Josh Palmer and the unpredictable and often outrageous skills of Galore Bofando as he makes his KTMMA debut. Palmer will be facing Wang Guan, Bofando Nuerla Mulal both experienced, quality opponents.

Urban Kings Fighter Palmer is no stranger to foreign opposition, having beaten the tough and durable Brazilian Joao Nogueira by split-decision at KTMMA 2. A dynamic Muay-Thai specialist, Palmer is transitioning well to KTMMA rules and this was a big victory against a far more MMA experienced opponent from a superb gym who was on a 3 fight winning streak. Palmer although vastly experienced in the stand-up game is still finding his feet when it comes to MMA and Guan a well-rounded MMA fighter will give him another tough test, especially as the majority of his wins have come by way of KO or TKO. KTMMA is a happy hunting ground for Josh, however, and he proved capable of dealing with his opponent’s ground-skills in beating Nogueira and will be looking for yet another International scalp this time around.

Galore Bofando, who trains out of the London Shoot fighters also comes from a striking background, like Palmer having an excellent career in K-1 and Kickboxing before transitioning to MMA. Bofando is known as an entertainer, flamboyant and unpredictable, which makes him a real fan favourite. He has also successfully transitioned to MMA rules but his KO wins still reflect his stand-up background and skill set. With his opponent Mulal a former boxing champion this could prove to be the explosive fight of the night, so don’t bet against a KO finish from either man.

The two bouts under WLF rules over 3x3 minute rounds are equally impressive match-ups and feature UK K-1 champion Kerrith Bhella in action against Hu Yafei and Ruth Ashdown taking on Gong Yan Li, a match between arguably two of the best female fighters in the World at their weight.

Firewalker’s Bhella is a seasoned K-1 specialist and is both a K-1 English and British Muay Thai champion. Bhella recently made his debut in Japan and scored a memorable victory over Yuya Yamamoto in a thrilling battle that emphasised Kerrith’s class, grit and determination. He will need all these attributes once more as he takes on tough sanda exponent Yafei, another experienced campaigner. In his war with the Dutchman Marcel Verhaar late last year Yafei, from Dojo Dadangxiang, proved an aggressive front foot fighter with solid boxing skills, some flamboyant kicks and a strong chin, so on paper this is a very tough match for Bhella and promises to be non-stop action given both men’s style.

Lumpini Crawley’s Ruth Ashdown is a welcome addition to the KTMMA roster with an impeccable pedigree as she is the ISKA and WBC World Muaythai Champion. Ashdown will need to be at the top of her game as KTMMA have matched her with one of China’s top female fighters, Gong Yan Li, known as the Queen of KO and the Chinese and Asian Sanda Champion. With a record of 24-1 Yan Li is a formidable opponent but Ashdown has all the right credentials having proved her mettle beyond doubt when she took the World title from the Australian champion in Australia with a performance that left no doubt in the minds of the judges. Against Gong Yan Li Ruth will need another huge performance in what could prove to be the fight of the night.

Saturday 14th of March is when these thrilling matches take place as part of KTMMA 3, the future of Combat Sports live from the ILEC Conference Centre in Earls Court London.
