Nath an Carnage was awesome, that elbow was a killer.
Thought Hiroyuki did enough to beat Kurt, who looked flat.
Good see Nathan Briggs in action.
The guys from strike force were awesome,TS2 as cool as ever and the Thai guy Charavan was so calm even when the Agressor was going for it.
Congrates to Nathan Corbett a real world champion.

after i saw a pic of you with a dark-haired-woman,i considered HER to be Chloe.
i found out later, that it was Julie Livet LOL!(and someone on ax calling Chloe
"Blondie"i had for a joke!but real Chloe not sooo blond either !)
2)some pics are SENSATIONAL,wow !
(i hope you don`t think i´m a flatterer,but i feel it`s good that someone
apart from your Australian buddies expresses his appreciation.
also human nature tends to be more motivated to criticize something than
to praise it !)

This show was absolutely awesome! It was probably one of the best shows I have ever seen. Ray your a great promoter definitely one of the very best in Queensland. Every fight was just spectacular, one after another.

Congradulations to all fighters, it was a great effort put on by everyone. A big congradualations to Kurt Finlayson, that was a great fight and to Nathan Carnage Corbett the new world champ well done! Apparently they said on the night not too many world title fights are held outside of thailand.

I hope that next year will be just bring as good fights as there has been this year.

Thanks Ray for putting on a great show, my only problem with the show was Nugget. A ref's decision should be non bias, as opposed to betting against Aggressor, and calling the fight off too early, winninghis bet with fellow gym members. Nugget, you abused your privilage as ref.

Well done to Aggressor, Charavan, Briggs, Kurt and Nathan.
Chloe
Posted: 2003-12-15 19:03:28
Not too many people agreed with Nugget and his decision. For those who don't know this is what Happened. During Adam The Agressor's fight again Chara Van S.F.G, Adam got what looked like 2 cuts, one was between the eyes and the other was on top of the head. After The Agressor had 3 timeouts to go to his corner to get the blood towelled off Nugget called the fight off. To be honest I think Nugget did the right thing and I agree with what Nugget had done.

Don't get me wrong I'm more then sure the Agressor could have went on fighting no doubt about that but if he did keep the fight going the cuts could have been more serious then what they were. There was just way too much blood everywhere and if kept continuing the blood was sure to get in Adam's eyes.

Adam is a sensational fighter and I enjoy watching him fight it was a bit unfortunate though but I think Nugget did do the right thing even though none of the crowd did. I remember a chick that was sitting next to me, I don't know how stupid she is but when Nugget walked past she yelled at him "your reffing sucks". That would be the most stupidest thing I've ever seen anyone do.

Nugget you did the right thing by stopping the fight, it was unfortunate and I know Adam could have gone on and I'm sure he wanted to but in the end it was really the right thing to do.
Aussiebob
Posted: 2003-12-15 21:53:21
Nugget did the right thing 100%,I was there and as I saw it was justified.Nugget is a WMC ref and rep if Adam had been serverly injured if the fight went on then maybe he could have sued both Nugget and the WMC for negligence and lack of due care,Muay Thai does not need a bunch of lawsuits.Public liability is a touchy subject to the martial arts why would he put himself and the WMC in a bad light for a few blood thirsty audience members.Nuggets job is to protect the fighters not the wishes of a few in the crowd.Adam was getting desparate and was making mistakes while Charavan was keeping cool,Adam would have got more cut up if it had gone on.Charavan was never hurt or in any real trouble.Good call Nugget!!!

Penny, put your money where your mouth is and put your real name and proof of the bet, pretty outragous claim to say that a ref is corrupted, especially someone like Nugget.bye penny boonchu

bad boy
Posted: 2003-12-16 18:53:39
Hey, Aussiebob,
to say that Adam was getting desparate and was making mistakes is a bit far off the mark. Up until the cut, Adam was having an awsome fight, and staying calm and collective, and once he got cut, he did what he had to do and go for the knock out.
By the way, whats with the 'penny boonchu',the post was made by just 'penny' as far as I could see. Good to see that you are posting under your real name hey aussiebob!!!
Aussiebob
Posted: 2003-12-16 19:40:24
Hey Bad boy,Adam was doing well up until he was cut then as you said went for the KO,in that desperation he got cut again..he was making mistakes thats why he coped the second cut.Charavan was covering up and waiting and if you were there was starting to fire up, up until then it was Adams fight.Adams shots were getting abit wild while Charavan was staying cool.Just 'cause you get cut you shouldn't panic,it was the second cut that made Nugget pull it up.

Penny Boonchu quip was because the boonchu crew were the ones calling foul,i just figure she's a boonchu supporter,my real comment is that she accused Nugget of cheating...proof???

As for me not using my name, hey I have'nt accused anyone of cheating or bagged anyone(nice to see you using your name champ)

For the record I think Adam is a great fighter and very exciting to watch but he lost get over it,a real measure of a great fighter is how they handle a lose, cry foul or get over it and get stronger.
It'll make for a great rematch.

Hello

I accept defeat and I am at terms with the result. But, For the record......

Nugget got a drop of blood splashed on his face and at that point he sh!t himself and called the fight off.

Quote Nugget: (whilst in the ring)
"I don't Know who you've been rooting, ya know"

Quote Nugget: (After he'd made his decision in the ring and in conversation one day after the fight)
"I got a shock when I got a bit of blood splashed on me and I stopped the fight."

The doctor on duty was satisfied that the cuts weren't serious and I was cleared to continue but Nugget ignored the doctors professional and clearly voiced opinion.

WHAT HURT THE MOST: Nugget didn't give me one round break to clean up the cuts and administer the treatment the would have kept me in the fight for two more rounds (the bell went 30 seconds after he stopped it.)

No offence to anyone mentioned in this sentence, but I've seen his boys fight with serious cuts. Nugget reffed my fight with kurt and when I cut Kurt finlayson (twice in the same fight with blood flowing freely) he took kurt to the doctor three times but didn't interfere with the doctors choice to let the fight continue.

I believe Nugget stopped the fight for one of two reasons.

1. He really did shit himself when some blood got on him, in which case he might want to consider whether being the referee in elbow fights is really the career he envisages for himself

2. He may have bet on the fight. Now please realize that I have no proof about nugget betting, besides what I have heard from multiple and reliable sources, and that certainly cannot be submitted as decent eveidence. But the facts are stacking up against him.

Many thanks to charavan and strike force gym for the opportunity and I would also like to clarify that although I am dubious with nuggets decision, This post must not reflect upon the standard of the strikeforce fighter, or their favourable outcome.

I realize this post is going to cause some serious sh!t, but hey, why shouldn't everyone have access to the same information that I have.

All the best

Fair call Adam, your comments are much appreciated.Like I said a great fighter can be judged by the way they handle a loss.I'm sure you will come back a stronger fighter. You learn the most from your loses. As for the Nugget blood thing, what can I say......nothing,thats btw he and you.

Thanks bob.

This is the first time I've ever attacked a referee's decision or professional career, And I justify my stand point by saying that in a way my professional career has suffered an unjust blow. Bill Harigon's face is all over national media whenever he misses a 'knock on', so in our own little Muay Thai world, you can expext a little bit of ref bagging when something smells fishy.

I get my stitches out tomorow. The cuts are piss-weak.

PISS-WEAK!
Aussiebob
Posted: 2003-12-17 04:39:00
Hey Adam, just out of curiosity how many stitches did you get?
Hey that pretty funny Nugget being the Bill Harigan of Muay Thai,so that makes JWP the Wally Lewis of Muay Thai and you'd be Alfie Langer...
Aggressor
Posted: 2003-12-17 05:04:36
Hey Bob.
I used to play a mean little half back too!

3 in the top of my head ( Funnily enough that was the small cut but the one that bled the most) and 6 on my nose, ( and that cut hardly bled). My nose required some tricky stitching because of the direction of the cut where it sat beneath my brow. Well placed elbows let me tell you. Lightning fast.

The fight must stop for severe cuts, or cuts that impair vision. The cut atop my head bled down the side of my head and no where near my vision and my nose cut was surprisingly not all that wet.

That takes my total stitch count to 15
Billy the Kid - 3
Kurt Finlayson - 3
Charavan - 9

Luckily, I don't compete in this sport with the desire of preserving my cosmetic integrity, and I would have worn double the stitches to have won that fight.

All the best

I have just a couple of questions,
When this show is televised, will they actually play Laura's fight or will the ladies be left out once again?

Why after all the publicity of Anglea Parr's fight, was it left out. We sat up all night waiting for that one only to be disapointed. There were lots of ladies were waiting to see that one??????

What about Laura and Karren Williams fight????

What about Laura and Julie"s fight??????

Why is it that the mens fights are televised and the girls not, they're all on the same show.??????????????

Why are the women not supported in this way?????????

Can anyone from fox sports answer my questions?????????????

Thai Pan, you could actually email foxsport directly at feedback@foxsports.com.au and express your concerns to them directly and complain that the viewers don't get to see the female fights.
The Wraith it should be on foxtel 13 January 8.30 and should be on foxsports 1.

Hey Rockstar.

Lady luck wasn't smiling on me that day, but I did get to push myself to new limits with my training, and no one can ever deny me that.

As far as womens fights being televised, I agree that media has double standards. However This isn't confined to Kickboxing and you'll find that womens kickboxing recieves only as much respect as the piss weak amount that most other womens sports do aswell.

C'mon, fair go for the sheila's, mate

Hi Guys,

Sorry to cause chaos. To stop any confusion, I am from sydney, have frinds who do kickboxing, and was in Brisbane for a week for holidays, so I came to Ray's show. I might not know the fight game very well, I watch most shows on Fox, and read about the fighters in the Kickboxer. I just over heard certain people talking amongst themself, admiting to betting, and mentioning names. I just added my thoughts from the night,

Sorry

It felt like thr ring moved beneathe my feet! I sh!t myself.

Initially, the head cut let a bit of blood go, (down the side of my head, (they always do,) but before nugget had even stopped trying to justify his call to my corner the naturally occuring adrenaline in my body had already started to stem the flow dramatically.

He justed jumped on the opportunity to stop the fight. For what ever reason, I'm unsure.

Maybe it had something to do with the fox coverage and they dont want large amounts of blood on tv, just like they dont like showing womens fights, maybe you should contact the hammer and ask if it is true about the blood on tv just to get all the facts, anyway rematch him again and prove your point in the ring, i am sure your fists can do the talking better for you, and make sure its not on fox, i bet i wont get stopped unless you need a transfusion next time, just my thoughts on the matter
