Although there are alot of amateurs appearing on the card im still expectin ga great night of fights as its the first timers that usually end up being in the entertaining bouts. The main bout will be very interesting. Im picking Shaffa who is coming back into the MMA arena after taking a few years off and trying professional boxing.

Hey Scott,

From what iv heard and read so far it looks like he will be taking on excellent grappler Richard Buhrmann from Victoria at Spartan 9 in April. Richard is an Australian champion in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and is one of the leading contenders in the Spartan under 70 kg division.

Richard is not very good on his feet so Shannon has a chance to knock him out but Shannon better make sure not to end up on the floor or it will be over.

Dont think he will. From what iv heard Shannon usually walks around anywhere from 68-72 and the fight is under 70kgs.

One big advantage that Shannon does have is that he has been doing a BIT of training with Danny Higgins who is an awesome wrestler and would have taught Shannon how to sprawl very well.

shannon fights at 66 kgs but his last fight the supa 8's it was at 69kgs but im not sure what weight he was for sure ???

Thanks scotty, i have also heard that Shannon is one of the most conditioned guys in the sport.

The event that Shannon is fighting at will be absolutely awesome. The event this wkend will feature alot of amateurs (apart from the main event) but Spartan will have the best MMA fighters in Australia.

Really looking forward to Forrester vs Buhrmann. Iv seen Buhrmann's stand up and truly believe he has a a real good chance of being knocked out. Hopefully Forrester has been practising his sprawl.

Get into contact with Kerry if you want to take pics. So him some of the shots you have taken before and im sure that he will let you take a few photos :-p

Yeah, Rich is really going to have to work hard to get the takedown. If he justs stands and waits as he is prone to do he will get picked apart by Shannon.
If it goes to ground though it wont last a round

but as im a shift worker it makes it hard to make it to weigh-ins & the shows if i dont get enough notice of when there on to change shifts & now they have just changed all my shifts again on me

On the March show, they have Dan Severn fighting! Apparently they have signed him for two fights.
