Bill.
Trevor Clark was the guy i was thinking of when i had "heavies" in mind, but he wasn't a heavy was he?
Your BMTA was the start of the crazy associations problems this country has now (but i understand entirely why you did it), but i bet you couldn't have invisaged it being like it is now :-)
Did you pull out after it started as Lorenzo Cablierro (a karate man) seemed to have a lot of say in things.
And what happened to Arts International? That was one of Lincoln's as well wasn't it?
As far as i can remember all that time ago only one fighter (Craig Howlin) bridged the BTBC/BMTA gap by holding both titles at one time.
Haha... the last undisputed champion.
I would have liked to have seen the link with BMTA and BTBC to form the proposed BMTC, but i guess that the ego's were all in overdrive by then and it wasn't going to happen.
I have also only heard both sides (which doesn't always mean the truth:-) of the story regarding the crazy situations with the WMTA and IMTA. I know they (with Lincoln voting as uk rep for WMTA and EMTA) kicked Tony Moore out of the WMTA, but my understanding was it was all about Tony supporting the IMTA who at the time were the only ones sanctioning elbows (real mt).
That only a few of Europes fighters were fighting these rules (Karman primerily) i was against the uk reps voting as they did (although i've never been a member of anyone).
I know there was personalities and politics involved as there always is, but i'm curious what Lincolns stance was on the subject at the time?
Lincoln's fighter Julian Howell always talked a good fight against Dawson Burghandy (that fight appeared to irritate him a bit), but sad for all of us this cracker of a domestic battle never happened. I have my suspitions why, but they are only an educted guess. It was a pitty they didn't get it on anyway.
What do you think?
