We have dealt with this issue before but as I know that some of you were not around at the time I will try to summarise the outcome of the debate so that it can end here on this post.

Fact: Some cultures seem to use abbreviations such as "Jap" and "Paki" purely as abbreviations. They do not use it in a derogatory manner and no offence is intended.

Fact: Unfortunatly the people that they are describing view the term as an insult.

With this in mind, it would be common courtesy on an international website such as this, to honour their feelings and refrain from the use of a term that you know offends.

Even if you are adament that you do not use the term as an insult, you should be aware that some people are offended and therefore it is still better and in the true spirit of the martial artist if we make the effort to use the correct term so that we do not insult anyone.

For those who were not here when the debates were going on...Now that you know, please respect.

If you search the Ax topics you will find various topics on racism etc. Read them if you need to but "DO NOT" post on them and bring them to the top of the list.

If you have any further questions or views on this then e-mail us but do not post them on here.

Back to the topic....who is Butterbean? (I know the answer, just bringing it back to the question)

Thanks
