Fantastic atmosphere last night. Although Nonkee took all the wins, that wasn't the whole story. Before the show the Dutch were assuring me of their credetials and how tough the curcuit was over in Holland etc.
Gav Sterritt had lost the early part of the fight and had grafted hard to turn things around by the third. It looked like Gav had things sorted though when power finished the fight with a ko.
Danny Brown showed a proffesional side of his game (something his corner asked of him) with a mature shot picking performance. He just gets better. I recon he can fight again tomorrow if he wants. He left a slightly battered and frustrated opponent who hardly managed to get anything of substance off (not through lack of trying).
Ricky Barnhill and Jay Woodman put on a brutal bludgeoning display that even had referee John Blackledge raising his eyebrows at me at the end of the first round. Ricky pounded a ko out of his opponent late in the second but Jay Woodman is going to give any fighter he faces all the trouble they can handle (book him if you dare).
Aiden Lewis was super fit for only his second ever fight against such a tough opponent in Mark Beasley. Beasley was pulled at the end of the second to save himself his own bravery and it is nice to see such good people as Paul Pearson in a fighters corner.
It was excellent to spot Tony Moore supporting the show with two fighters and great to chat with Kevin Harper at ringside.
The Dutch were full of compliments for the fighters and the show after and said this was the best hospitality they had ever recieved abroad. It is always good to chat with the forign fighters afterwards if you can and get their take on things. Good things are expected of the fighters here today dispite the results.
I hope to get some good pix of the show up asap (not my camera, waiting for the disc to be posted to me).
