Hi Jones
I am not too sure of legalities with full Muay Thai in the State of New South Wales as far as the Professional side goes. I got it set up for the amateur side of things for the WKA & the Thai Boxing Association of Australia in NSW. I will start trying for the pro side of things later this year, when I get some time. But dealing with the Authority is like banging your head against a wall. I think if you have two international fighters fighting in this state there is a loop hole somewhere in the legistation. It really sux because it is the only state in Australia where this type of thing happens. Even the Professional fighters have to wear shin pads here.
I think the minister should look at sports like Rugby League & Aussie Rules before he starts trying to ban combative sports in this country. First of all if you look at the statistics on serious injury and deaths you will find that these sports have more problem that combative sports. The only difference is Multi-millon dollar sponsorship deals that the ball sports have in this country.
