Jones, you cant turn a cow into a horse. Kickboxing is what it is. Trying to promote fights on the basis of spectacular kicks or dazzling combat is a touvh misleading. It is a tough contact sport. It is unfair to compare the charisma of Ali with anything in kickboxing or other sports. He was a freakish athelete and a incredible person. There are not many of those types of people in the world.

I believe the issue in kickboxing is more to do with sham promoters producing ordinary shows and poor trainers either pulling out fighters or having them unprepared for bouts. Kickboxing does not have the coverage that boxing has and therefore it is difficult to expose colourful characters. Withjout mainstraem coverage the sport will not grow. We cover world class athletes in nearly every sport known to man but aussie world champ kickboxers cant rate a mention. Its the same with Mundine. He gets quality coverage over much more qualified and deserving boxers.
