Ooops!! nearly forgot the highlight of the whole show!!!

The streaker running on (with shorts on, thank god!)after Eddie Beale had beaten Lee Tate. I may be wrong, but we could be the first tournament to have a streaker!!!

I must take issue with you when you say" everyone agreed and it was hard to pick a winner"all of the trainers including Pele ,Mr harding, and the ringside commentators Sandy and Saun that I spoke to gave Imran the fight because Imran`s tactics of clinching and Kneeing were very effective in neutralsing adams boxing skills. With the exception of round three where Adam landed a very good right cross giving Imran a eight count . The only explanation I can think of is that the judges (well at least two ,because there was a big discrepance in the scoring)did not score knees ,perhaps they are from a a kickboxing background.Imran followed his game plan to the letter and feels very hard done bye It was not a pretty fight but a effective one. Dose The I.S.K.A (the sanctioning body)score effective use of the knee in Thai boxing?I do not feel it was a case of Adam giving a poor performance he is with out doubt one of the most talented youngsters in the country it was a case of Imran using tactics in his fight plan to secure a victory.I just did not allow for the fact that Knees where not a scoring weapon in this contest.

Sorry Dave.... We were going to have a bar in the hall, but they decided that "our sort of crowd" might be a problem!!

Bill Judd.
Not that i need to say this to you, you have spent so long in kickboxing, but...
It is often the case that there is no directive from the sanctioning body as to scoring systems. The promoter just pays their money and you have a sanction.
If judge a, b, and c were to score this fight and then were judging at 'muaythai titles r us' sanctioned show, they would have read it the same way... probably.
I didn't see the fight (but these scenario's make me want to so i can see how i would have scored it) but it's usually the judges and not the sanction.
What was the discrepancy in the scoring?

Thanks Sandy,

But please, Andy didn't let anyone down. He was fighting a tremendous fight, and I would probably agree with you that he was looking the fighter more likely to win, but then Brett pulled out a brilliant punch that would have stopped anyone.

Andy is a top fighter, and I'm sure you feel he has done you and your club proud.

P.S You are right on the bald dwarf!!! One of my runners thinks he may have seen him with your pads!

"To produce a good score the technique should have a visible effect on an opponent."

"The most important or best scoring techniques in MuayThai are those that have the greatest effect on the opponent. In both amateur and professional competition it is not the number or variety of techniques delivered but their effectiveness that is important in determining the winner of a fight."
