Why San Shou (Chinese
kickboxing) Stands Still - article submitted by David Ross
of NECAF (NorthEast Combat Arts Federation)
AX note: Very important article that
addresses a criticism of the USA WKF
organization. If what he says is true, there is
no denying the selfish attitude of the USA WKF
organization. If you have enjoyed watching San
Shou before or plan to in the future, please be
aware of the information in this short but
concise article.

Thunderzone IV -
Australia's Best Vs The Rest! - A message from Robert
Wilesmith of the Thunderlegs organization in
Australia regarding the proposed THUNDERZONE IV
event.
AX note: There are some accusations by
Robert Wilesmith of people from other
organizations. Is it nothing but a marketing
ploy, or are the accusations true? Or both? Read
what he has to say and you make that decision.

AX
Updates -
- Soon, the Kickboxing
news will start to be archived. I will place a
link to the archived section from here.
- The webmaster of AX,
Brian Ritchie, is going to be moving in the early
part of January to Dallas, TX. With this move,
there will, understandably, be a slight pause in
the news updates unless Andras can find extra
time to cover them.
- We will be working on
creating a "Support the sport" page for
Kickboxing which will include ways of contacting
your local TV and cable companies to let them
know that you are interested in watchng
Kickboxing. If anyone has any valuable
information to add that pertains to the world of
Television, please contact us. axcontact@yahoo.com
- The
AX Message board. Use it! Promoters, fighters, and
managers, it is one of the best ways to keep in
touch with the fans by asking them questions and
bringing up KB discussion. Fans, it is one of the
best ways to voice your opinions about the sport.
SPREAD THE WORD.
- We are thinking of
making AX T-Shirts, posters and other ideas, sold
at cost. We might post some example graphics up
in the AX Art section.
- We are also thinking of
switching to our own domain name. If anyone has
any suggestions for these ideas, contact us axcontact@yahoo.com

We
have recieved a response from the K-1
Japanese site regarding the lack of K-1
USA web page support.
Thanks
to Chris Hernandez for contacting the K-1
organization. This is their response to
his email:
Dear
Chris,
Thank
you for your inquiry. We just updated our
English pages, so please take a look of
it. Also, we are surprised that we still
have link with k-1 USA. It is totally
different organization who is running the
site, and we are going to provide our own
English pages.
Noriko
Fukushima
Ax
Comment: That is great news. At
least K-1 Japan is aware of the
situation. I wonder if word will get
through to the K-1 USA organization now.
Maybe this will threaten the relationship
between K-1 Japan and Art Davie.

I
am putting an official challenge out to

Grant Barker (92+kg)
Hiriwa TeRangi (95+kg)

More comments about the
disappointment of the K-1 USA page:
I am also
disappointed in the quality of the USA K-1
Homepage. I also e-mailed them trying to obtain
information for television broadcast information
of the Grand Prix to no avail. The Japanese K-1
homepage was excellent until they dropped their
English page (hence the inception of the USA
K-1site). K-1 is a huge success in Japan
unfortunately, it is my opinion that Mr.Ishii has
made a poor choice of partners for K-1 to be
successful in the United States. My suggestion is
to e-mail the home office in Japan
(www.k-1.co.jp) and let Mr. Ishii know that we
need better information from the Japanese site or
find partners who will keep the USA site updated
and more informative.
Gerri
Ax Comment: Thank
you very much Gerri for your opinion on things. I
wonder, is K-1 listening?

Because appearantly that is what the staff

opinion the Superbowl of MA\kickboxing, and We
have not had an update for over Two months...Also
the last time I tried to use the K-1 usa

saying it was not active.. So do yourself a favor

AX comment: I would have to say that I have
also had frustration with the K-1 USA page. I was
first impressed with how much was developed in
what seemed like a short time. However, the
site's maintenance leaves much to be desired and
that is something that I don't expect from a
commercial site such as the K-1 USA site. The
source of K-1 USA information, it would seem.

--Trouble in Amsterdam--
In Reply
to: Champions League
Finale on November 14th !!!!!
The `some
trouble' you were talking (See Ax news Oct 8th) about deserves more
acknowledgement than you think! I spoke the
WPKL-guys and the thing the city Council is
talking about is banning all martial arts that
aren't acknowledged by the NOC/NSF! That to me
would suggest that Thai boxing and all other
martial arts have to be Olympic! We have to take
rigorous action to preserve our sports. I've
started a big letter for the City council and
I'll send it to theWPKL, they know how to get it
at the right place. The word on the streets is
also there is an huge demonstration coming up!
