Showdown in Milwaukee
Robert Wilesmith reports:
Hi everyone,
On March 19th in Milwaukee, WI. USA, two of the best fighters in the Southern Hemisphere today will take on what seems to be the best Northern Hemisphere it has to offer:
- 95 kg: Grant "The Bomber" Barker vs Jeff "Duke" Roufus for the IKF World Muaythai Title. (5x3min rounds). The winner is to fight Dennis Lane in North Carolina in June.
- 67 kg: Marcus "Mad Dog" Mangan vs Kongnapa for the IKF World Muaythai Title (5x3min rounds).
Also one of my 78kg amateur fighters Shane Meads will fight one of Duke's fighters on the night as well. I would like to thank Jeff Roufus & Steve Fossum (President of the IKF) for their help in making all this happen. The Aussie's are coming over for the huge showdown & we are coming back with TWO TITLE BELTS. On a bad note, Duke is running his promotion on my birthday (19th). Isn't it nice to be 21 "AGAIN"?????.
Well my friends, if you would like to see what else is happening in the Kickboxing world today, click on 3 of my favourite webpages:
Keep kickin' everyone & the thought of the day is:
"KEEP THE B.S. OUT OF THE BEST SPORT IN THE WORLD TODAY, MUAYTHAI"!

Hi everyone,
We had a huge "Grand Opening" at our new Gym located at:

All the above champions put on a great show both on an individual &
together level. The general public, along with Major Sponsors Thai
Airlines, Jetset Travel Merrylands, Twins & Morgan Equipment, 2MMM Radio
all had a great time. No "POLITICS" was spoken at all, as we want to
keep it & the people who talk it(In the past)!. We at Thunderlegs are
going forward now with big plans with providing the "State of the Art"
facilities, along with Solarium, Sports therapudic massage by both male
& Female masseurs. Also too, Grant Barker is a big part of the
Thunderlegs Gym & will assist me in taking the classes whilst I am
studying my 2 Sports Degrees at University.
To all my friends out there who sent me wishes & support, thank you for
your kindness as it "DOES" make the difference. To all the people who
have put challenges to my fighters in the ring for 1999, we are only
taking the challenges seriously when the contracts are faxed to us. We
have been promised lots in the past with little results. Lets make 1999
a year of NO B.S., & lets make the sport of Kickboxing No.1 in the
world.

Kickboxing gym needs help
Gavin Pomfrett has emailed us about Andrew Pompei's Wheatsheaf Kickboxing Gym in Esher, Great Britain;
they just created a website to ask for help to let their
small but enthusiastic and serious club relocate from a closet-sized bungalow into something with at least a toilet and a dressing room.
This would also enable them to teach children safely and provide for training of people with disabilities as well, and finally they wouldn't have
to turn more people interested in training down purely due to space constraints.

Brian is relocating
It finally happens. Brian has left the building in Louisville, KY and is heading towards Dallas, TX where a new house, a new job, and most
importantly, a new gym is waiting for him. Things will take about one or two weeks to settle down he said; in the meantime I'll try to keep the news
page updated and reply to emails - a task not to be taken lightly; I hope I'll be able to keep up with the expectations.
