User name -> User ID conversion
  • add user ID column to users table
  • populate user ID column with unique values
  • alter table users column user_id set default nextval("users_user_id") or change new user registration code to assign new user_id upon registration
  • hunt down all occurences of usage of username field in other tables and in PHP code and change them to use user ID instead; namely (list not exhaustive yet):
    • msgboard_messages.name -> msgboard_messages.user_id
    • msgboard_topics.creator -> msgboard_topics.creator_id
  • add code to message display to display appropriate text for changed username/deleted user
  • add code to topic list display to display appropriate text for changed username/deleted user
