Topic:Any Females Tried Water Loading?
Are there any females around that have tried water loading?
I am just wondering if there are any females who fight professionally and use water loading as a means of cutting weight prior to a fight?
I have never tried it, but I am considering trying it as I would like to fight at 59kg. I know a lot of men that use it successfully, and are able to cut weight effectively. However, i personally feel (and know) that it is a lot harder for women to cut large quantities of weight than it is for men, due to body fat percentage, retention etc.
I was considering using a week, as a test for weight cutting. training hard, cutting down on food and waterloading simultaneously.. What would be the recommended levels of water i would have to drink? I have heard some guys drink up to 8litres in their first day or two, personally i think that would be far too much for a female?
Any suggestions would be appreciated
hi
myself and another girl from my gym tried it - thankfully we did a trial first as it did not work for us at all! we retained a lot of water! i ended up having to go to the chemist and buy a duretic as it had the complete opposite effect on me, and i felt terrible - also i drink alot of water normally and it was tough!
everyones bodies are different and things like body fat etc will all play a part in whether it will work, so by all means if you want to try it then do it as you never know it may work for you and if it does thats great!!
but i wont be doing it again anyway!
Hey
Thank you for your response, I was beginning to think no-one would answer me! I can see where you are coming from, I tried a trial run and thought it made me feel tired, like constantly full and sleepy, as well as feeling bloated. I was hoping others had had more success! I think i maybe lost a couple of pounds if that, so I doubt it will work for me prior to a fight... oh well!
