Topic:Water Loading Dose Not Work?
water loading dose not work ???
In my experience it works.
It does work but its best to play with it before you REALLY need it to gauge the levels you need to take on, length of time to increase water and also when to stop.
There are many varibles with water loading.
its never worked for me either and ive used a few different varibles of it..3/4k sauna on the day off the weigh in aint nice is it adam hahaha
is it possibly just certain body types it works with??cuz iv followed everything iv been told, for me when i stop drinking i simply just dont pee anymore.
My mate drank 8 litres of water a day for a week then 2 days before the fight reduced that to 1.5l and then didnt drink anything on the day of the weigh in. For him he said that he kept peeing the whole time. Was a bit scary for him though cos he was sitting well heavy the night before lol.
I don't recall the exact numbers but I was given a program - based largely on my weight. It was an increase in intake over a period, not just a bunch starting at once... I forget if there was a cutting back day or not. Worked well though.
I've heard you can go to some naturopaths (maybe docs too) that will help you rehydrate with an introvenus (spel?)
I certainly wouldn't drink straight water to rehydrate - if nothing else I'd make a home made "sports" type drink... I'd have to research it but I would at minimum add unprocessed sea salt if nothing else for some electrolytes, likely some raw sugar or a bit of fresh squeezed juice.
"clean" water (city, demineralized etc) in the loading as well in rehydrating is a problem because without trace minerals (eating fruit helps too) your water to electrolyte balance gets out of wack and this is very very important to the body. If there are not enough electrolytes in relation to the water the body won't hold onto the water because its dangerous without the electrolytes. So to hydrate, and get the water in it helps loads to have some trace minerals.
Unprocessed sea salt and/or a squeeze of lime helps with the mineral content as well as positively adjusting the pH levels etc etc (salt is also very important on hydrating on a cellular level)
So in loading you want to to stay in and obviously in re hydrating... something to look at in my opinion.
Longer than a week would work better. Depends on the cut amount and the training shcedual pre fight. Finding the balance is time consuming for a paticular athlete based on the above. Experience makes it easier each time. With larger cuts the reduction may be way higher leading up to the fight. Depends on the specific circumstances.
Bottom line if you are a fat git or trying to beat up on the tiny lads way below you it may be drastic. LOL
