I K F: Amateur Kickboxing Championships – Milton Keynes, 18/07/09

-------------------

A.K.A. England, is proud to announce that the ‘COMBUDO-2 ‘event being promoted by Shihan Lee Hasdell and the famous S.S.J Dojo in Milton Keynes will also be featuring Amateur Kickboxing as well as several other formats, ( including Pro. M.M.A. and Pro. Kickboxing ).

The Amateur Kickboxing bouts, will be conducted under the popular ‘O.S.R.’ ( Open Scoring Rules ) format. K-1 Style Kickboxing, ( Kicks – Punches – Knees – Restricted clinch hold ) utilising full safety equipment, just as everyone is accustomed to that regularly competes on the A.K.A. circuit. Basically an A.K.A. event within the COMBUDO Martial arts event.

I know people are quite excited about this, as they can compete on the Amateur bouts, and in the evening sit back and enjoy the Pro. bouts that Lee is organising.

If you are attending, and are interested in having some people compete on the Amateur side, please email the details through to the A.K.A. website, as per standard format for the A.K.A. events ( Pre-Registration, Pre-Payment for Entry Fees, Free DVD of the event for Am. competitors etc... ).

As this is a martial art event, featuring several formats, their will be limited A.K.A. Kickboxing bouts, so please register early. Those registering the earliest will get priority for match making.

Posters should be arriving at all A.K.A. registers schools in the next few days, along with the DVD’s from our most recent, and hughly successful, Leigh event, held in May.

Further details at www.aka-england.org

Thanks,

Neil.

Hi Steve - your guys were, as always, a joy to have attend.

supremely courteyous and fabulously skillfull!

The milton keynes event is i do believe heavily subscribed so it is more important than ever to get entrys in quickly!

Lee (Hasdell Sensei - the godfaather) always goes out of his way to make sure everyone on his shows has the best experience they can.

this event I have no doubt will surpass last years event!

fantastic venue and atmosphere - cracking food stand too! - EH... we all need to eat!

If you refresh your pc now, the large poster with the details should appear.

Sorry for the mess up, as I was a bit of a walking zombie last night - with new edition and bottle feeds etc cathing me up...

No wonder they are called dream feeds - lol!

All good though, and worth it

Am i right in tinking that there will be the taiko"sp" drumming again??
Neil Holden
Posted: 2009-06-23 15:18:05
Not sure pal, thats not my department, although I have to admit to thinking how cool it is when an event opens with the drummers.

I remember a an event called 'Global Heat' using this when P.H. promoted England vs Japan several years ago.

Mark Russell did the biz that night!

I'll be looking forward to that DVD. It felt like there was a lot going on in my fight but I was a bit too busy concentrating on doing it to think about how it looked. Hopefully I didn't make too much of a mess of the ring with my nose bleed. Email me (mhoulden at nukesoft.co.uk) if you need my address.

No, its not a double booking.

The next two A.K.A. events, ( Milton Keynes and Warrington ) are only daytime - afternoon schedules, finishing at 7.00pm. Both events from 7.00pm evening time onwards are to feature Pro. MT KB & MMA bouts.

Should there be any International Amateur title bouts though, thse can be featured in the evening.

The October 24th ( Leigh ) event and will be Amateur KB and Amateur MMA.

Its good to mix the shows but most lots of the time we have so many amateur wanting to compete its simply a matter of time management.
Especially on local home events so to speak.

Good to see Justin wasn't put off by my bleeding on him. How many of these has he done now?

Haven't had the DVD yet. I've emailed my address and I'd appreciate it if it could be sent out.
