A few times in close either of them could have used the elbows, I'm not sure why Spong won;t fight with them..

By the looks of it a rematch is of order to settle it without a doubt. This time though it should definitely be on Nathan's terms - Full Thai Rules in Australia.

The ref did a pretty poor job. He also was the ref of the Ptrice Quarteron Slowinski fight. Did anyone notice how give gave a count when quarteron had his feet swept? Overall hope tht ref just had a very bad night, because that was two bad jobs in one night.

Nathan was super impressive! No contest or whatever!!!

That was the refs fault... The ref is to protect the fighters ???? His body language looked as though he was going to let him fight but his arms were waving it off. Usually the ref holds the fighter and signals to all that it is over...

It was very clear the ref was waving the fight off. Nathan in my opinion was lucky not be be disqualified. He had won the fight but fucked it up with what was bad judgement on his part. Dont blame the ref.

Why was it a no contest?

Good knockdown and its a shame it ended like it did however I thought Spong looked the better fighter throughout,be a good rematch.

both these fighters are champions any one could bet the other on a good day i respect both fighters. but put everthing after the knock out away why was it a no contest???? a knock out is a knoock out.
where does nathan go from here? theres no one left for him to fight????? i dont think tyrone will come down in wieght again he has a goal as a heavy wieght in K1

Nathan did knock spong out. But I think the refs desicion came on the fact the ref was waving the fight off in favor of Nathan, when Nathan was at that time a little too excited and decided to beat a dead horse. I dont know the exact ruling on what should have been called but i would assume the fight was over with Nathan winning and maybe further dicipline action from governing body for hitting after the stoppage.

Also in my opinion, Spong was way ahead and looked better..

Agreed that Spong looked better, but perhaps a tad too cocky.
A rematch would be good, as you can't really say Carnage is the better fighter simply based on that one fight. Will be hard though as Spong will chase bigger weights and $$$.

I do like Spong but I think he was much better at the lower weights. He was sharper and much stronger than most he came up against. I understand he is putting weight on to get in with the bigger guys (probably more lucrative as well). However he has been knocked down a few times now and I question whether he has the chin to compete at the heavier weights. He is open to big shots, this was not really a problem to him in the lower weights but I see it as a real issue as he steps up.

Anyone else think he is chinny??
