Sandy you are mad...I wondered when the temptation would be too great for you LOL

For anyone who wonders who I would be daft enough to have any sort of competition with...it is with Sandy

... and I hasten to add it is not a press-up competition (which Sandy would win easily) but something less painful and far less healthy. I inadvertantly entered into a competition (Sandy's idea) after we both were consuming energy drinks to stay alert during some of the longer shows we both attend...to see who can consume the most caffeine based energy drinks to keep alert.

You would think we would be both old enough not to enter into silly competitions or at least wise enough if we did not to publicise the fact...but obviously age is no guarantee of wisdom or else both me and Sandy would be very wise.

LOL Tony,we all know Sandys mad but your goodself?? perhaps your spending to much time next to him at shows and he is rubbing of on you! have you been thinking of changing your hairstyle by any chance?! :).

Tony knows how to time a performance....This is how I see it....
He started off sipping the first few cans, observing how Sandys drinking technique is. There were a few early spills by both guys, but not enough for either to capitalise.
After about 7 or 8 cans I think Tony upp'ed the pace, chugging the cans back and standing solid....by which time due to Sandys slighter frame and older liver, he cant absorb/process the caffine quick enough.
As Sandy bounces around, again Dr Myers upps the pace again... its like he has found another gear!!!!!
Sandy goes in to caffine overload and starts having a mc-dee, mc-doo, mc-har-har fit and dives in to press-ups on the floor. Sandy is told to get up by the official but he is intent on reaching 1000000000000-press ups by next tuesday!
Dr Myers wins by TKO in round 16 due to caffine overload.

An epic battle by both guys, and one which will go down in the history books of Red Bull drinking.
Well done to both contestants.
Comisserations to Mr Holt, and congratulations to Dr Myers with an other solid victory!!!!

I can see some controversy over the scoring criteria, and although there were a few minor fouls early on, these didnt affect the overall performance of either guy.
I was talking to a few Dutch observers and they thought it was strange how both guys started slow, and wanted to change the rules of the game to drinking from glasses with ice, instead of straight from the can.....but they were soon shot down and people said "thats not proper red bull drinking!"

....but does show a great understanding of red bull drinking scoring which as you know is holistic, all about maintaining position... particularly after a few cans, and certainly not just about the number of cans drunk but also the way in which they are drunk and their overall effect...which can be determined in a number of ways...the number of piss stops included in that(as Colin hints at in his post).

Colin will no doubt go on to point out that it is not simple an accumulation of cans that counts but is the about the story of the interaction of the two drinkers...when one drinker drinks effortlessly and the other pulls a face at the next can, has an influence...even looking like he could 'down' a can effortlessly when his opponent is struggling to drink the last can, can be considered important. although it is sometimes difficult to articulate, when you have watched lots of red bull drinking, you get a real feel for it.

I would add even though there are subtleties, we must no forget it is a red bull drinking contest after all... forget all your previous experiences of drinking other drinks and it is straightforward...even a child can understand....although I sm sure we all would agree they should only consume decaf red bull themselves.

Just a quick one tony about the rules(never heard that one before) would shark energy drink in your oppinion ever have a place in a red bull circuit?

If it's scored a draw on the cans i suggest a final round of the 50p game as the decider.
