Any Promoter whose promoted? and Whose New? and future Promoters?
If theres anything / advice i can give and and the others want to add? ( please do )
Then The above Statement is from 25 years of co: / and promoting and 30 years of going to shows, is that its All about the matchmaking !
and yes if theres a list of 50 ? theres 100 things to do and not do on a show !
but to focus on the main item its this !

just as a comparrison, on sat i was at Interclub at Gfc Bury ( Darren phiilps ) and bare with me here i know its not about Interclubs... but let me tell you it is too !
after having loads of them and people doing them there are so many parralles and great things you can take from them !
mainly the point of "matchamking"

* can i say as a side note and personal thankyou to Darren for his excellent matchmaking, second to none on this, he had 13 of mine on 10 kids 3 adults and the matches was everything, in that they was very equal, challenging and thought out !*

this is a `template` for the REAL DEAL Thai Boxing SAhows !

Another recent example was our Ikon IV show in Bolton, Daz morris whom i did the show with was doing most of the matchmaking whilst i was left to do other importnat stuff as well ! and gotta say
"outstanding matchmaking again"

Anyone whom thinks its easy? and a great money making scheme?
try one ?
lol
anyone whom makes money and YES i / we do ! its a J*B ! and so many people indeed tens of People get paid for coming to them ie: all the officials the Venue owners the boxing ring hire, the ref: Judges, film co: commentattors, trophy makers, news paper ads: the Poster / tickets / flyers/ trailer/ programme makers.. phew and a whole heap more... the list is endless !

anyway sorry to detract slightly from the main point!
sandys slogan..

"Match them Right
Have a Great Fight"

p.s.

Another BIG Tip Start your fights on time ! !!!!!!!!!!!
No reason / excuse you cant !

The matchmaker is a guy who becomes visible only when he does wrong. In any other formula it's the merit of the fighters, of the coaches, of anyone else :)

Good and fair matchmaking is important.
Even more important is the honesty of the promoter/matchmaker when discussing names and details of fighters on the phone.

My WORST piece of bullshit that has been fed me over and over again is "errrrm i dont have the paper work in front of me" and being vague with the details.

If you dont have the paperwork in front of you then tell them to ring you when you get home.

DO NOT bullshit people with "errrm i dont have the paperwork in front of me" when you KNOW full well who the opponent is matched with.
