Unfortuatly the shipping is almost as much as the gloves.....

Talk to them about Chris. Seriously. Customer service is awesome. Even with the shipping rates that you're talking about they are still cheaper (including shipping) than other sites than we've talked about here. Look at the whole site and tell them what you're interested in. Trust me. The same gloves on another website, that we were debating about compared to this site on another thread, including shipping were $60. If you find something cheaper on another site, they will match that price and take 10% off of your entire order as well.

Mr N Rich has a good point here. The status currently at the Twins factory is the stock is depleted. It takes time to recover after Songkran to start manufacturing gear, and often, what you order isn't made by the time you intially expected it. My guess is they place the order and hope to have it to you in 4 weeks, but by issuing the conditional phrase regarding shipping delays escape responsibility. I doubt they have a stock, otherwise orders withing the US would take 3-5 days tops.

The delivery is not 4 weeks or longer unless the factory is backordered, which rarely happens. This is called "covering your ass." They order from Thailand and wholesale to most of the places that sell Twins equipment in the U.S., so with the odd stuff (custom shorts and the like) it may take around a month to get your stuff. Regular stuff I wouldn't worry about. I ordered the gloves that are on sale (before they were on sale, godammit) and got them within two weeks. Ahem, that's more than I cay for Fairtex, which despite being two states away from me took more like 3 weeks to get me a pair of stinkin' ankle supports. And like I said before: the service is perfect. They are like friggin' Nordstroms. If you have any problems, just email them.

They are the Nordstroms of Muay Thai equipment suppliers. The owner Ercivan is on top of it. He has a staff working 24 hours answering emails or something because anytime I email even in the early morning hours they get right back to me! Tim you are right if you contact them and ask them for a discount code for shipping they will give it to you. If you want to be sponsered and need free equipment they will mail it.

I spoke with the owner Ercivan once and asked about the shipping times and he laughed. He stated: "We ship out about four hunderd items a day from our Thailand office, our office in Amsterdam and our office in California. About 50 of these orders are at times on back order with the Twins factory. Twins does not carry stock: they start making the product when they have a batch of say 40 XL " No fear shorts" or 50 red tiger gloves. Twins uses the Japanese " Just in time inventory system" this keeps their cost down".

It makes sense why they can't refund. Once the order is placed it is automatically forwarded to the factory in Thailand and the factory gets paid. I can guarantee you Twins Thailand will laugh if you ask for a refund because your silly pink custom shorts are a week late. Buy some crap from Century for $29.00 and you will have them in 3 days. You will buy 10 more pairs by the time your real gloves come in from Twinsgear.com

I missed Sandy's defense of having nice equipment. It's very true; thanks Sandy. If you want to go through crap like I did for years because it ships out that same business day, go right ahead. I love my new equipment. I feel like I'm masturbating when training with them. I'm never buying any cheap ass shit again. I've gone through this same way of thinking with everything else (cars, stereo equipment, musical equipment, stuff for my house, stuff for my dog even) except fighting equipment, but now I'm there too. Don't get me wrong-Fairtex is good stuff too, but I've heard about a zillion more complaints about their service than I have about twinsgear.com-not to mention everything they sell has "fairtex.com" plastered all over it like a gi at the mundials. Not a lot of class there ;)
