Anybody ?
FATBOY

Master Sken runs one in Wilmslow (my home town)on a Thursday nite 8pm - 9pm, and one in Macclesfield leisure centre on a Sunday nite, not sure of the time of that one.

I attend the Thursday nite one most weeks for somewhere to train. Good class, can never seem to get to the Sunday one. I hear they do a bit more light sparring etc on the Sunday.

You moving?

Hope this helps.

Hi Snail, I live in Macclesfield and have trained at Steve Wilkinson's gym. It's specifically Muay Thai and the lads train 4 times a week: Sat 2-4, Sun 11-1, Tues 6-8, Thurs 6-8. They train at Paradise Mill, which is next to Wetherspoons in Macc (I can give you directions). They have several punch bags, provide kick bags and gloves, and have a ring where the lads who are competing can train. They are very friendly and welcome anybody to come and train. I trained for about 6 months there but haven't been for ages, mainly because I really need to train with another girl (if any girls are interested in training please email me!!). Nevertheless the guys didn't mind me training there when I did go. I think some of Steve's lads are fighting on Feb 27th in Manchester but I will need to find out who. I've included a pic I found on the web (http://www.shukokarate.co.uk/pages/thaiphotos.htm)

There are also a couple of clubs at Macclesfield Leisure Centre, Priory Lane: As mentioned by FB, Master Sken (Rob) 7-8 on Sundays and Thursdays in Wilmslow (I used to live there!) 8-9. I've got his number somewhere if you need it.

There is also a Kickboxing class at Macc Leisure Centre - Dave Stewart (trained under Chris Boughey); Tues 8-9, Sun 3-4.3. Think Dave does a boxing class on Sun also - 7-8pm.

Spoilt for choice really, I don't have any excuses for not training! Seriously though, I'm thinking of going back to Steve Wilk's club as that's probably the only one in Macc that can get you involved with competitions/fighting (unless Rob's does but I can't see the leisure centre having insurance for that..). Depends what you're looking for really.

Hope this helps, I've rambled on and need to go into uni now :)

Stef,

The Sken class at Wilmlsow has about 5 girls training on a Thursday. I am thinking of going to Steve's for a session to see how it is.

When did you live in Wilmlsow? I thought I knew everyone there!!!lol

I lived there for about 15 years and left when I went to Uni in 1998. I used to work in a few pubs there; The Swan & The Kings Arms mainly. If people recognise me it's usually from the The Swan lol :)

I live in Macc now with my dad as it's close to my current uni in Stoke :)

I don't drive so it's not as easy for me to get about but I may go along to the Sken class at some point :)

LOL I'm a professional student; I did BSc Psychology with sports science at Liverpool John Moores (2001), MSc Forensic Behavioural Science at Liverpool (2002), then decided I wanted to work in crime scenes, so I've almost completed Forensic Science at Staffordshire :)

7 years in uni it's about time I got a job...

Odin,

I always struggle with Thursdays, I do football training from 7-8 then Thai 8-9. So the 6-8 class dosen't suit.

I will try and get down next Tuesday (work permitting).

Look forward to meeting you then.

FB'Slim

p.s. Stef - If your gonna be a damn good investigator I better keep my nose clean!!!
