Gina Caranos fight history...just read a post from gina on a topic that was closed an was very impressed with her response an reactions to a silly outta control situation which i was also stirring the pot too,all respect to Gina who came out of it with a lotta kudos. I would like to know more of her fight history an what got her into the fight game because any lady that can write a well thought off response which impressed the hell outta me deserves some mention in axe.... im still gonna refer to her as the "UNICORN" not in a diosparaging way but as a compliment i hope as she is that mythological creature that doesnt exist..." a world class fighter and also beautiful", apologies if any disrespect was encountered by my comments in a previous thread ciao bella from australia .

It may take Gina some time to respond on her behalf to your post, but as a member of her team as well as friend, I can tell you first hand that she is a phenominal fighter who is not only beautiful physically, but a wonderful person on the inside. Anyone who knows her, I am sure would say the same. (Yes, your wish for a Unicorn has come true :)

To answer your question, she has fought some very tough fights that have included a fight against Christy Martin as well as Jackie Williams, both were victories in Gina's favor. As she mentioned in her post, our next fights are scheduled for March 26th at the Stardust Hotel in Las Vegas. You definately will want to check her out live in action. Her fights are definately a must see. Keep up the good work, Gina!

There were clips of her warming up before a Master Toddy promotion on the Kickboxing.Tv show #1.

It's currently not up as the site is going through some changes to prepare it for Show #2 and it's official launch. Show #1 and 2 should be up within the week.

hey there, it's gina, thanx for your comments, I really appreciate it. So, I am a amateur fighter outa Master Toddy's gym in Las Vegas, NV. I have 10 fights, however 5 of them are smokers. I am not quite sure if we're supposed to count smokers or not on our record, but I havn't lost yet, so I guess I'm either 5-0 or 10-0 depending on what you count. It's all the same to me but a lot bettet without headgear and shin pads. My fight weight has been 145 but for the March 26th fight I'm goin down to 135-140. I have only been fighting muay thai for about two years and have no previous experience in any other type of fighting, so I feel like a toddler to the sport but I have already got such a passion for it, I can't imagine it not a part of my life. As for who I have fought, Trisha Collard was my first official amateur fight, I had 2 smokers before that, then I fought Suzie Montero in Florida, Jaquiline Williams from I think Fairtex, Christina Martin (at a smoker in Cali.) the Thailand girl (her name's on Master Toddy's website), and 5 others, which I would have to go back through the tapes to get their names. As for why I decided to start fighting, it wasn't even really a question once I started training at Master Toddy's, it was a perfect fit. Some girls join sororities and some girls fight, we're all just looking for a place to fit, I just feel lucky to have found it. So there it is.. Sorry it took me so long to respond, I don't normally talk about myself but I really appreciate the comments. Thanx. Gina Carano - Oh and I'm not quite sure whom I am fighting in March, they're are still lookin for a Japanese fighter for me, but there has been so many challenges, I don't think there will be any problem finding someone, this will be an awesome next year, it's only going to get harder from here but it's time to see what we're made out of. I think some of you will be pleasantly suprised.

Gina has taken female fighting to a whole new level. With a smile that can melt any mans hart, and a punch that could knockout and male of female. I watch her fight a few time and she shows more hart the some male fighters.
I hope you have a great career.

Keep up the good work, Don't let the media get to you, because now your going to be the hype of not just female, but for fighting in general. So chin up ( except when your fighting)smile...:)
If all womem were like you , I would't be single. So if your ever in the Toronto are, I'll be you guide.

Thank you,
Darren

Pardon my ignorance folks, but what exactly is a "smoker" . Over this side of the world, a smoker is how we describe an awesome fight that just explodes with action and intensity. Is the smoker you refer to what we call an exhibition ,like a sparring session that has no decision?

ol 1 eye-

Yes it's a friendly exhibition. In the early days of boxing they would have been held at a Gentleman's social club or some back room, hence the name "Smoker"

im not sure why anyone wouldn't take Gina seriously lol, she is probably one of the best fighters in the world at her weight even though she hasn't had as many fights as other girls. She is also going to be a force to be reckoned with in female mma. as far as muay thai goes, i would stick my neck out and say that she would more than give germaine a run for her money-nowhere near as many fights but easily as talented and with the sort of cardio we mere mortals can only dream of!!

Dunno how she was in here muay thai fights but as far as i know, she's hardly ever actually made weight for an mma fight - and has been regularly accused of unprofessional behaviour.
marianne

cant comment on the unprofessional behaviour thing, i wouldn't know!! most of her muay thai fights are wicked to watch (for me as a fan anyway), just coz she is so aggresive and confident. im not a fan of the whole ring girls/fight girls thing but theres no denying Gina is one tough lass.

Has anyone see Ring Girls?! Gina Carano is absolutely awesome in that! The two fighters that she fights in the documentary get proper torn up!! Especially the Thai woman!! I have to say that Gina Carano is a world class superstar in her own right. She has proved herself not only in Muay Thai but in MMA also! I've tried to contact her on Myspace but no luck! Also tried to contact Lisa King (another one of my favourites) on Myspace but once again...no luck!! I have spoken to Angie Parr, though! Anyway....back to Gina! Does anyone know her fight schedule? Does she have another fight planned for Elite XC?

I haven't heard of any unprofessional behavior by Gina, except for the weight-cutting issue, which I believe only happened once. JonC might want to expand on what he meant by unprofessional behavior.

Marianne, what do you mean by this?
"I'm not a fan of the whole ring girls/fight girls thing"

Keith, I think the biggest criticism of "ring girls" is that the quality of the Thai opponents were brought into question.
JonC
Posted: 2007-10-26 03:02:39
It is basically the weight cutting issue - as far as I know she's failed to make weight for 4 mma fights, the most recent at a catchweight of 140lbs, which was the most publicised occassion as her reasoning for not making weight was 'time of the month'.

She failed to make weight against a UK fighter, Rosi Sexton prior to this on EliteXC - and from what I heard basically got the sulks and refused to cut any more weight, in effect causing Sexton to fight at a higher weight than arranged. TBH, i don't think many fighters would get away with this kind of behaviour - but i guess the promotors see her as very marketable, and why not.

IMHO if she cant make 135 then she shouldn't arrange fights at the weight; she could get herself hurt by cutting weight so badly and also puts undersized opponents at greater risk .

Just my opinion

To be honest, Brian Ritchie, I have thought about that myself! It does seem a bit weird because in all of the Thai fights, the Thai girls don't even get a proper shot in! Still think that shes an ace fighter, though.

Hi Brian, yeah with the ring girls, whilst i thought the idea was good (i.e. following farangs to thailand, seeing them fight etc) i was a bit put off by the final fights, the thai girls didn't really stand a chance, the end just ruined it a bit for me. with fight girls, again i loved the idea of it (as a fight fan it had great viewing potential)but it all seemed a bit glitzy and not very realistic. But then again, i didnt see all of it. I suppose though, its good that poeple are putting these things together and i shouldn't moan, coz at least its showcasing the talents of people like Gina. I'll just shut up Lol

Gina is one hot girl. Not to mention a ferocious fighter. I would gladly let her kick my arse if it meant sharing the same ring as her. Who knows she may take pity on me afterwards and take me home and heal my wounds!!! ;-)
