Looking forward to seeing the Swedish fighters perform - don't think I've see anyone from that country fight, also makes it a bit more exciting cos you really don't know what to expect. I reckon if a few of the fighters are champions then they must be pretty good at least!
Mordan
Posted: 2005-09-02 17:47:57
I reckon you could be right Anya, just means a bigger scalp for us SMTC boys to take. Sorry and Girl, Can't leave you out Laura.

Great stuff. What weight are Steph & Mehdi fighting at?
liam badco
Posted: 2005-09-03 06:31:26
matthais is training at jittigym at the moment he is very tough and has a big hearty but is not that experienced so i think sean will take it on points
ally wallace
Posted: 2005-09-03 10:31:47
Steph and Mehdi are fighting at 77kg AFAIK
Mordan
Posted: 2005-09-03 12:47:06
Thats good to know liam, that just makes the show even more exciting to go to. From Scotlands point of view its a no lose situation, and a good step foward for Scottish thai boxing to get good opponents over.

The steph and mehdi fight is one to watch as they are both big guys with alot of power.
ally wallace
Posted: 2005-09-03 13:36:20
Should have mentioned that the Steph/Mehdi fight is also 3X2mins
Laura stevenson
Posted: 2005-09-04 16:19:56
I think all the fighters are looking forward to this show. I am looking forward to fighting someone from abroad, a wee change from fighting an opponent you know of or have seen fight before. It will be a good challenge for us all.
Laura stevenson
Posted: 2005-09-04 16:23:21
Also forgot to mention that the SMTC website is getting revamped at the moment.

Mathias is strong... he has been fighting out of Jitti Gym for the past year in BKK, but previous to this he hadnt fought before. A baptism of fire I think!!!

Seans experience will take a points victory me thinks.

Here's a link to the Swedish teams website for anyone who's interested. It's all in Swedish (obviously!) but there's some nice pictures.

Wouldn't mind a pic or two of Tereze Lindberg either.

Laura stevenson
Posted: 2005-09-08 17:34:40
HEY all the guy's have been warned about this! Yes Tereze is a good looking lass but you have not to be shouting for the opposition now. A few guys suggested getting her on early and then we could use her as the ring girl, but hopefully she won't be able to walk by then.
Laura stevenson

Sorry to interupt your conversation about Terezes looks , but i dont like you calling her a bitch Laura.
I dont think she deserves that .......... so please keep it on a mature level.

Thank you and see you in Oktober

Fredric,
I am sorry, i meant it in a light harted way. I did not mean to offend Tereze.
I was just a bit of banter bettween me and the boy's from the gym, as they have all been commenting on her good looks. Please accept my appologies to you and Tereze. I did not mean it to sound the way it did. It was more of a compliment to her than anything else.
Scottish humour is sometimes a bit harsh.

The Scots have a strange sense of humour, I ve been training with them nearly five years and sometimes I don't get em. I know for a fact that Laura would me no harm.

Nah we have just asked John to move the Gym through to Edinburgh. Can't wait for Sean to return and boot us about but if I'm still standin hopefully I can pick up a few tricks of the trade.

Nothing wrong with enjoying two girls going at it hard!

I was going for the 'Blair Witch' effect - just cos none of you philistines can appreciate my cutting edge filming techniques.

And less of the "old" Mordan - I'm still younger then you despite what the hairline says.
Laura stevenson

We will pay one pound in scottish notes per piece of info on the Swedes. C'mon noi666 you could make a lot of money from this.
Frederic, Scottish money is worth a lot more in England. If you want to make a few pounds i'll tell you how to do it when you come over on October.

Anyway, good luck to all fighting, a lot of historically tough warriors getting it on!

Well, if noi ain't going to let any secrets go on the Sweds, How about you Fredric. Nothing wrong with dropping a few trade secrets on your fellow country men. :) I'll even throw in a few Scottish pound notes.

Fredric Rosenberg

I like the new method of loosing weight for your fights guys! Mark 3kg (hair cut), Dan 4kg (shaved beard), i must be able to shift a good 5kg with a trim then.

Barry has a face only a mother could love after that last fight. His nose looks like someone has halfed a potato and stuck it on his face. when chatting to him in the bar i seen it grow before my eyes.
Well done to the boys, we will get them back next time guys!!
I forgot to bring 1£ scots notes for noi666 as i did not think i would need to, but even on a bad day Stevie was still standing to the end.
Anyway, great show and well done to all the fighters that took part.
Lets kick some ass for this SMTC show guys!!!

Well we have been going on about the Sweds and trying to get any trade secrets about them but has anyone seen any of the Wicker camp boys fight? Just coming out of that camp means they won't be slouches, but has anyone seen any of the boys fight?
bobachanchyn
Posted: 2005-09-30 14:18:55
How did you know that?! It was a pic of Baz with a big spud grafted onto his beautiful mug, but obviously it didn't work.

I did think for a second that I might be going a step too far. But then I remembered it's Barry.

HE CAN TAKE IT! GRRRR...

boba,
you should just come out the closet! Sleezy pics of greezed up men in your wallet, and your unhealthy obsession with Bazza who is a big gay boy anyway!. just ask big Dave Mcfarlane and Sibbald, they will let you into a secret or two about him. Anyway are you looking forward to your 20 rounds of sparring tomorrow. Remember Sean's back, a canny wait (aye right).

You would have to ask your Husband. He is the one who has formed me into the fighter I am today. As for your black eye and Boba, we will just have to sort this out with an extra bout on Sunday. Boba can stand on your shoulders to make him about the same height and weight as me.

John Craig Say's,

Tereze Lingberg injured herself during training and has had to pull out of her fight with Laura. We have had a medical certificate from Fredric Rosenberg and it shows that Tereze has tore a ligament in her knee which will put her out of action for a while. We wish her a speedy recovery and hope we can get this fight on at a later date.

Laura is very disapointed as she has she has trained very hard for her first international bout, but she understands the way the fight game is.
As Laura's husband and trainer she is one of the unluckiest fighters i have trained due to the amount of pull outs in her career.
We will call it a day for this year but back fit and strong next year. If any body wishes to have Laura on there show e-mail as above.

Have to say well done to everyone who was there yesterday. From the fights I saw it was a really good show.

Graham put up a great performance for his first fight against a strong fighter who kept up the pressure right the way through the fight.

Shame about the Steph/Mehdi fight, it was definitely shaping up to be a war with Steph dominating, but then BOOM, Mehdi fires out a well timed body kick that caught Steph clean.

And Dan put up a massively gutsy performance - even though tired & cut badly he was ready to come out for the final round, but had to be stopped due to the cuts. At least for the next week or so he'll be as ugly as the rest of us! ; )

Great job to everyone else on the show as well, from all camps. I'm sure someone will put up a description of the fights, but as I say I didn't see them all.

Has anyone got any pics?

Boba, me Bro is working on the video footage as we speak and hopefully it will be sent down from the deen in a couple of days. As for photos, I'm pretty sure we had a professional taking them so hopefully their will be a few crackers.

Even with 7 stitches mate I'm still good looking, well the right side of my face is. lol

Well done to everyone some great fights and everyone was really well matched, I reckon we try and bring the sweds back as they were all class guys and as the drinks flowed their English was spot on.

The best fight for me would have to be Chris polley, from looking nearly down and out to bangin in those longs knees to take the fight. Once again didn't get to see em all but the ones I did were all awesome.

Anyone got any tips for trying to explain to a class of 9 year olds how I got my 7 stitches?
