Caledonian Show 28th May
Caledonian Muay Thai will be holding a show in Kirkintilloch (just outside Glasgow) on Sunday 28th May. this will be predominantly a novice show to give some of the up and coming fighters in Scotland a chance to showcase their talents. There will, however, also be some 5 round fights and possibly one full rules fight.
There are only 200 tickets so make sure you get them fast before they sell out!
If any fighters are interested in fighting on this show, please have your coach or instructor contact Guy Ramsay or Hilary Mack asap.

Trying to get as many matched as possible just now Craig. Should know the rest of the fight card in the next few days.
What happenend to the Gary O'Brien fight? Is he still getting matched or what?
Considering he is in Thailand, errrrrrrrm I don't think so doh.
Considering, there are two Gary O'Brien's errrrrm maybe I was talking about the other one. Doh
(Be honest, bet you feel small now eh?)
The Gary O'Brien fighting is from Caley and is a few kilos heavier than stba Gary O'Brien. Will post the rest of the fights after the Airth Castle show this wkend once we know if there is any injuries and who can fight etc.
The "HITMAN" Comes to Glasgow.
Yes I know it has nothing to do with the fights but it is to do with Caledonian Muay Thai and it is the day before.
Nice one Brian, put me down for the one at the griphouse thanks :)
the morning session will be a mixture of fitness and technique. padwork etc. ill try mix it up and hopefully cater for everyone and hopefully they will enjoy what i will be teaching aswell as learning.
afternoon will be sparring, technique and quite a lot of clinch i will also try to join in with this as much as possible.
i will also have my assistant with me andy howson who i shall be demonstrating on and throwing him all over scotland :-)
Brian:

Vinny,
Thanks for recognising the genius of my comedy. (Just kidding)
Looks like a cracking show in Kirky. Can't wait.
I'm from the area and know a couple of the guys fighting.
Might not even be the first time I've seen them scrapping in Smiths Hotel, lol.
Anyone confident making predictions or are the majority of fighters to unknown to call.
Wins for all the Caledonian fighters! i might be slightly biased though :)
Most of the fighters are novices so there will be little fight history to go on but from seeing the fighters training for this they are definitely looking to make their mark on this show. All the fights have been well matched and its looking like its gonna be a good show.
i fought steve brown a couple of months ago in greenock. technically sound. tall for the weight and has good kickin power . combinations of hands, legs and knees. from what i remember as i havnt seen the dvd yet.

What's the deal with tickets? Are there many left?
Sorry Brian the event is sold out. We weren't anticipating the demand that we got as we were expecting people would be saving for holidays etc so we kept the size of the venue small. Will be looking for a much bigger venue for our next show though.
Best of luck to all the fighters this weekend!
Damn it. Ah well, maybe I'll get my act together in time for the next show. Thanx Stephen.
Good Luck to Alan McTavish.
Chok Dee to all the fighters.
All fights still happening?
Any changes or pullouts yet?
So far the fight card is still the same from what ive been told.
Looking forward to my fight. Back to the old skool with some kickboxing :-)
I don't usually enjoy watching kickboxing bouts at thai boxing shows but I'm particularly looking forward to this one.
Two very capable fighters and I 'think' it looks like a very even match.
Wouldn't be surprised if this is fight of the night.
Duncan, who are you fighting?
Check out the full line-up just posted on the site -
Chaos in Kirkintilloch. A chap called Peter from the Korean Kickboxing Club
Nice one dude, good luck for it!

Andy Lyon, Caledonian Muay Thai.
Think the show went really well, there was a hell of a lot of blood from shins, noses and god knows what else, and some great ko's. Dont know how everyone managed to fit into the hall but it created a good atmosphere.
All the fighters fought with real determination and did themselves proud,
A big thanks to everyone involved.
Should have a dvd of the show soon, so will post on here when its ready and you can contact Guy or Hilary for a copy.
cannaebebotheredtraining you were right the kkc guys fought great, when you getting your fat ass back to thai training? :)
Has anyone got pictures of the rest of the fights?
lilp xx
cheers 4 posting the pics briancal
Enjoyed my fight - can't wait to see the pix/videos of the fights I missed. Caught Gordon Smith's at the end and he was looking sharp!
No probs George and well done mate on you're win.
congrats to jojo and steve.
Oh My God...........What a show. Awesome.
Big respect to Hilary & Guy for putting it on. It was an absolute treat for the spectators.
Don't really know where to begin.
We had two guys fighting from our club (Korean Kickboxing Club).
Our first guy, Barry, I thought was superb. He was so composed, almost calculated in fact, considering this was his first fight. His movement and power was incredible and I'm glad his opponent called it quits when he did because I think he was going to get hurt had he continued.
Our second guy, Pete, fought Duncan Ireland in the kickboxing bout. For me it was the most exciting fight of the day. An absolutely brilliant match. Duncan had great composure and a cracking right hand. Pete fought like an absolute Lion and from both fighters it was 100% from start to finish. It was a very close match and in my opinion it was Duncans performance in the first round that got him the decision. Absolutely no complaints though. Special thanks to Guy, Hilary and of course Duncan for putting a kickboxing bout on the card.
I know that the venue was filled with mostly Muay Thai enthusiasts, but I hope that everyone enjoyed the kickboxing bout as much as I did.
Gary O'Brien (who trains at Caley & KKC) unfortunately I missed because I was warming up the next fighter but I'm so glad he stopped his opponent. Everyone at KKC is delighted with that one.
I'm going on a bit now so I'll get a move on.
Briancal nice to finally meet you after all the banter on here.
StephenCaledonian thanks for all your help throughout the day
Big Norrie again thanks for the help
Gordon what a fight man, unbelievable performance....Do you just not get tired?

Well done to all, sounds like it was a good show all round. Anyone have any pictures?
oops ok sorry, obv i can't post them chica!
Booooooo Karenski! Must try harder :)
If they're the pix I've seen then I think Karen may have been having a wee tipple at the fights LOL they were a tad blurry ;-) Hopefully I'll get some through soon and get them posted up...
In my defence, it's really hard to have a steady hand when then fights are so exciting!...let's wait for the professional pics then!
Congratulations to everyone who was involved, turned out to be cracker of a show :)
Well done to Hil+Mansoor who won their fights at SMTC show on the same day!
Brilliant show Guy, well done to everyone who took part.
Alan McTavish (Clydebank) Vs Alan Scullion (Caledonian)

Give me a shout when the dvd is ready
Cheers

while i didnt see the whole show, fighter of the show from what i seen must be wee steven cronin the boy was a touch of class in only his second outing
steven cronin
Well done to the little George with the big gob. Nice shorts! I still have this image in my mind of your Dads face when I was selling you those. he was like..."Pink? pink? you sure you want the pink ones son?" I really felt for him!
I was in the changing rooms getting ready to referee a show when I first saw young George. (The gobby English one) he really impressed me the way he is able to ask 75 questions without taking a breath or waiting for an answer :)
yeah he is amazing at that, shame he cant clinch as good as he talks, then he'd be the man.lol. just playing georgie boy, ill have you good in the clinch one day.he,he.
Nice pix so far webdunk, particularly like some of the facial expression-grrrrr!
Any more to come?
Nice groin kick george!
Well done mate!
See ya at the gym on Friday!
50cent could only ask 21-questions, so George is ace with his rate of 75-questions a minute
Oh and AndyBC, its only cos you have 20kgs on him that you throw him around in the clinch...just wait 3years and your gonna get it so bad. Believe me....Jordan Watson is getting his own back on me now! LOL
Patience Chica... Contrary to popular myth I have a day job too :-p
well done to everyone, one of the best shows i have ever been to (well worth the plane ticket to come across!!)! loads of variation in the fights, and a great venue - nice one Hil & Guy!
an extra well done to Mike and Gordy for being just stunning, i have entirely lost my voice now thanks! and also to wee Sean - that boy is going to be magic!
the pictures look ace Duncan. Guy is now going to spend a fortune in dry cleaning for that canvas...!
Wossobama JOJo- well done on the recent result heard you were great, what did you win with? Morven :)
thank you,my opponent kirsty didn't want to carry on....but i didnt really get a chance to speak to her after it, to ask her. whens your next fight?
