Capital Punishment 10 is set for Wellington NZ 28 April 07.
If you have any fighters who are keen contact me so far the main events are...
Hayley Landy Vs Karen Lynch for an NZ title
Tony Evans Vs Leeroy Calhoun for an NZ title under full Thai Rules
Both fights should be awesome - Hayley will be taking on Karen and it will be a big step up. Karen has about 17 fights with 12 wins and 4 KOs. Hayley has 6 fights with 6 wins and 4 KOs.
Tony and Leeroy will be a war, Tony has never looked sharper then in his last fight and Leeroy is an up and coming fighter.
looking for a 70-75 kg female fighter with up to 10 fights for the show as well to fight a women with 1 fight who is 71 kg
Cheers
Mark
Good luck with your show Mark, Main events look good.
Go Leeroy!!!
Hey Mark
Can I play too :-)
shell
Hey Shell
Would love to say yes but dont have anyone in the club who on the show for you this time.
Unless you can weigh in at 71 and loose 17 odd fights.....
mmm may be a little difficult ... oh well you know where I am
I come and support anyway, its always a cracking show :-)
Be great to see you here again.
Good luck with the 24th of March!
There must be a women out there between 70-75? Willing to fly from around NZ. Any ideas?
Tom Sheppard is confirmed to fight BJ Bland under Full Thai rules for his North Island title and I will start matching other fighters next week after Rexs show.
Will be a great night
Mark
Is there a full fight card for this yet?
Still working on the full fight card but the main events are
Shaun Rowlands Vs Bryce Barren NZ title under full Thai rules
Tony Evans Vs Leeroy Calhoun for an NZ title under full Thai Rules

Will be another cracker in the capital.
Mark
Hi everyone - I'll be there photographing and I'll be burning discs and printing on the night for everyone keen to take home a memory or two. I'll also be displaying photos on the laptop, if you want to see how it all looked technically then just come up and ask.
Hi mark hope your show is a sellout and the matchups look to be well thought out.is nztba sanctioning these fights or another body? Is the full thai rules fight an amatuer or pro fight. I am holding a show in Taumarunui(again!) on the 14th of july so if your not busy...gas and accomadation and wee fee to make it a good weekend in exchange for your judging abilities would be a bloody marvellous exchange of benefit to both of us. what say ye mark? ps has malcolm harley got an email address do you know? if anyone could tell me it id be grateful.
Hey Norm
Will be cool to come to the show. The fights are sanctioned by the TBA and all title fights now are full rules (except the ladies) this is the same as the WMC.
Cheers
Mark
I have a boy that wants to fight like the ladies. How can you help him mark? lol
Why is my fight not Full Thai rules?
Hi Karen
As you know womens title fights are optional for Elbows and for this fight we did not want them. But I am sure there will be a rematch and when Hayley gets more experience (her 5 fights to your 17 odd) then it will be another story.
I talked to Jase about this.
Cheers
Mark
Ah true fair enough. Plus she's going to be bigger than me so do i really want several kg's of extra weight behind an elbow to my face? hehehe, no not really!
Cheers Mark see you in a month.
Kaz

Just to get everyone going... here's Tony Evans in the last stages of winning his title.
I knew I'd been forgetting to ask something - Mark, are the ring girls going to grace us with their presence again this year?
Oops, found this while passing and couldn't resist. Tony Evans once again!
he bloody pinched my ring girl ha ha
Oops, found this while passing and couldn't resist. Tony Evans once again!
Matt Girdler, in a novice fight.
Tom Sheppard vs Trevor Kapoor (I think) - high kick vs block guard.
Owen was pulled out and then Ivan was matched against Joshua from Nelson - at 6 foot 5 he has to the tallest under 71kg fighter in NZ... but then Owen got injured so the fight has gone. Shame
God 6 foot 5 and 71?! It's tough enough at 5 11"!
Yep he is tall and I think he is develoing into a great fighter! Would be great to have you and the Rebel team down here on the card sometime Richie
Show Plan going well
There is also a chance to win 100$ for people who turn up.
Wiegh in tonight
Everything looking sharp - cant wait to see Karen and Hayley fight and Leeroy and Tony.
Cheers
Mark

Woot! Sounds like a good event.
Unfortunately, im gonna miss the first 2 hours or so as im working tonight. Poo.
Not even sure whose fighting..... kind of stuck in a 2 jobs 7 days a week situation whilst simultaneously organising the war against one of the largest and most evil corporations in Australasia at the moment so haevnt been around training much of late.
Anyway, looking forward to the bits of the event that I can catch!
I assume the event is being held in the usual place?
PS. We are all praying for many victories on the VUW side and of course that Cam keeps his pants on this time....
A couple of results, courtesy of young Rex Redden ...
- Mens New Zealand Welterweight Title -
Leeroy Coloquin vs Tony Evans
Winner = Leeroy via K.O. (2nd Round)
- Womens New Zealand Welterweight Title -
Hayley Landy vs Karen Lynch
Winner = Hayley via Points Decision
Wish I could have made it, sounds like another exciting show.
Congrats to both Leeroy and Hayley.
great night of fights, full house, what more could you ask for.
Awesome job mark and the team for another quality show.
ps the ring girl had "punch me in the face and stick it in my a##' written all over here face mark-where did you find her and how much does she charge? ha ha
Probably more than you can afford Rex. But I imagine Cam will give you a discount if you ask nicely
Probably more than you can afford Rex. But I imagine Cam will give you a discount if you ask nicely
hey,.. howd that get there twice?
WHile im here, I have attached a picture to keep Mr Rumble happy while he waits for pics of the ring girl.
Anyway, the event:
Jordan put an excellent fight as usual. Skipping up to the ring in a red poncho accompanid by the the theme song of the muppets. He then leapt into the ring proceeded to perform a... dance ... of some sort. Jordan is an excellent fighter. He is also our club token american. We keep him in a basement vault and unleash him on special occasions such as last night.
Tom Shephards title defence was a great success as expected, ending with a KO by knee to the head.
Hayley took on Karen Lynch and took the NZ womens welterweight title in a strong display of fists and knees. An excellent fight and a clear victory! The way the last round was going, I really think it would have ended in a brutal KO if the round had lasted another ten seconds. REally good effort on Hayleys part. Very very hard hitter. I've held pads for her. I am a full 50kg heavier and have legs twice as thick as hers. Even with a bloody great pad in between, after a minute or so I have trouble walking. But then again, I have a high wimp factor. A great match.
The last fight ended in a wicked KO. After the guy got back up he was walking like me on a saturday night. Yipe! If anyone has a vid of the KO, they gotta post it here!
In between rounds we were treated to an extremely attractive ring girl. She had adopted a scanty gothic motif and was made up to look like she had recently risen from the grave.
Hold on a tick.... I think I just said that she was extremely attractive AND that she looked like a corpse. I've never been attracted to the dead before. Thats me signing on for counselling first thing monday morning.
Being an egalatarian society, there was also a ring boy. Cameron of the VUW represented glad in undies and a bow tie. Thankfully, the pink speedo's he wore first time he did this were not involved.
As it happened I was standing next to a salivating old man who seemed quite entranced by our Cam. He remarked "I wish he would wiggle his ass".
I shrugged "Why don't you ask him ?".
Then the old guy asked me to ask Cam for him.
Feeliong a little odd, I went round the back of the ring and relayed this to Cam, along with a caution not to get into any cars with strangers that night, even if offered lollies.
When the next round ended, Cam got up to parade the ring perimeter with his round card. I discretely pointed to the old fellow. Much to my surprise, Cam immediately did an about turn, clenched his buttocks and began to gyrate, much to the glee of the elderly gentleman.
A must humerous turn of events!
Anyhoo, much good fun all round. Many thanks to mark and co for organising another succesful event. I still don't know how he finds the time or energy. He works full time and puts sooo many hours every week training his fighters.
What a show last night it was, enjoyed it can't wait for the next capital punishment congrats on the show mark.
that ring girl was ugly on a good day!
Hayley realy surprised everyone with her win over kaz lynch, huge victory!I am sure she will be fighting in oz very soon.
and did anyone record the fights?
Didnt surprise us Rex. We've been training her in a secret lab and have implanted her with numerous cybernetic enhancements. On a training mission she went to paris, pulled the eifle tower out of the ground, swatted an airplane out of the sky and then planted it back in the ground before anyone noticed it was gone.
Sorry. Im in a rather odd mood today.

Great show, really enjoyed it. I had a chat to Karen after her loss to Hayley - she was obviously disappointed, but sounds like she was just gonna get back in the gym and train even harder. Really impressive attitude, good on her. Awesome fighter too.
Hey General Disorder

My secret online identity has been penetrated! What gave me away? It was the description of myself as cuddly and squishy wasnt it? Damn my midsection. If the physique of a demi god.... whose really let himself go, a perfectly chiseled beer gut and biceps that sag tantalisingly.
I may be thirty but I have the body of a twenty year old! I keep it in a freezer in the basement. Ssssshhhhh.
Well done Leroy winning NZ Title. Everytime i see him fight he looks better & better. His balance and timing is awesome.
Rex, you must be stoked for the Alpha. Another NZ title!
leeroy is going from strength to strength. he was fighting to heavy at 70kg , so now he is at 66.6kg , he is much stronger and quicker.he has had 9 fights 7 wins 4kos.
at 20 years old has a big future. He is now back in training and is fighting his first mma fight 13th july.
Photog's choices from the night's haul - I'm nearly through sorting, have a look on hamish.net.nz in two day's time for the full fight collection.
So, let's begin:
Asleigh Ahipene, Bulldogs, vs Meenal Prasad, VUW.
Rhys Richards, Harleys, vs Tomohiro Sakura, VUW. Rhys finished this fight in a LOT of pain but never quit.
Will Mansfield, Evolve, vs Steve Haigh, VUW. This one's a bit of an accident but I just liked the look of it. This is Will walking into the ring.
Tony Shllum, ETK, vs Kieron Boardman, VUW.
Simon Hodder, Harleys, vs Phil Pithyou, Evolve. Phil hadn't thought he was going to win this one.
Suzanne Marsh, ETK, vs Lea Patrick, VUW.
Rhys Collier, Kapiti, vs Jono Maxwell, VUW.
Kem Ou, Evolve, vs Josh McKeon, Kapiti.
This one's from Jacob Curran, MMAC, vs Jolly Jordan Wehrman, VUW.
No show is complete without...
And another. Why not. I've got lots more, yep, plenty more where that came from...
This is from BJ Bland (MMAC) vs Tom Sheppard (VUW), Fight 10. This was taken just after a knee from Tom that put BJ on the deck.
Yep, it's Cameron.
This is from just after the presentation of title belt for Fight 11, Karen Lynch, ETK, vs Haley Landy, VUW.
Last one: Tony Evans, Wing Chun Fielding, vs Leeroy Colqhoun, Alpha.
I'll be listing the complete set of photos on my site shortly - check it out on Wednesday morning unless I post here again.
