white collar boxing, Hi all. We have all had fighters who are good with their hands, some of us lost them to amateur or pro boxing. I have a dozen lads who would like to box. If anyone would like to put them on a show or get together to promote a network of boxers within the Thai or kickboxing community please contact me.

Hi Nigel, Where in the UK are you based? We hold Boxing events on a Bi-monthly basis and also hold Prize Fighter contests paying £500 to the winner and £100 for Boxer of the Night.

We are always on the lookout to match up with other like minded clubs. We currently have links to other clubs in Glasgow and Dundee.

If you would be interested in networking with us, then get back in touch and we will take it from there

Because i think i have made my feelings known to you regarding Spencer and the EBF. Surely you don't think i would want the assistance of somebody that is cold-hearted enough as to not allow his fighters fight on a kids charity bout! Not only did he jeapardise my show, he lost his own fighters great publicity in the local press, and stopped them from earning a few kid because of spite.... That's why i thought you were joking.

On the other hand, if you ever want to fight outside the ebf, then i have a load of boxing gyms who could match-make for you from Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham. Nowhere near as big as the ebf but all bloody good fighters & coaches to work with.
bridie murphy1
Posted: 2010-10-11 21:12:58
action you miss under stood lol but iv made the same mistake before ,i was talking to nigel and craig . the ebf are happy to put there fighters on shows ,thats wot they do . they provid fighters for shows aswell as promoting the ebf . spencer does work with other promoters he always as . look about wot happend with that other guy and you ,spencer as his reasons for not working with him and im talking about it on here but if you want to phone me i will tell you why . i can see your upset about it but you only no half .

spencer as been great to me and my team ,he as only ever done me good . iv nown him 8 years ago when i fought for him and he was great to work with ,last year i joined him as he was the only promoter to tell it how it is sugar coats nothing .8 fighters with 30 fights under there belt ,from novice to great fighters and 3 great ebf shows iv done and im on with my next .

spencer is a good man as far as im concerned hes only ever been streight with me and mine and as help me back on feet as far as the gym goes ,good solid fighters .

Good, glad to hear it. Unfortunately, he almost fucked my show because i had two good recognised local lads on the posters and tickets and they were told by him they weren't allowed to fight. A kids charity almost lost out, i almost lost my show, and the fighters lost their chance to fight through him. That's it. That's my reason, and that's my opinion. End of.
bridie murphy1
Posted: 2010-10-13 07:41:06
sorry about your charity show and i hope your show did well in the end .

spencer gets his fighters fights every weekend ,he looks after his lads and the gyms under him providing them with lots of work ,thats why your friends still fight for him because they no they get lots of work .

if another promotion wants my lads on there show then its curtious that they ring spencer and ask first ,thats all he askes is that you let him no first . you dint ask spencer if you could use his fighters therefor in his eyes you was poaching them .

you dont have a gym and you dont train fighters ,wot you do is poach them .

bridie murphy1
Posted: 2010-10-13 07:50:21
no doubt you try poach fighters from every show you attend . wot we do at the ebf is we go through gyms and trainers and managers and promoters , we offer team work . for the fighters out there who are freelance and work for the ebf ,they are fighters that belong to spencer and if they get offerd a fight from another promotion all they have to do is ring him and make sure he doent have them booked on another show ,if he doesnt have work for them that weekend then they are free to work with whom they please .

do you think this is wrong ,if so why ,its called team work .

"no doubt you try poach fighters from every show you attend"

No Bridie, absolutely, definitely not! If you knew anything about me there'd be one thing for sure you'd learn and that's i have very strong principles in everything i do. I've got no need to poach fighters, my website and facebook group bring in at least one fighter application per month. I personally don't have any fighters, all fighters are free to fight for whoever they want, it's no drama to me. How i match make is simple: A boxing gym in Newcastle has around 18 active fighters, and another gym in glasgow matches the fighters we have. It's basic stuff. No need for poaching at all. My next show a local gym is putting forward 12 fighters, and the matchmakers are gyms in Glasgow and Manchester, then we reciprocate by sending fighters their way. We do this with 3 different 'organisations' at present, equalling over 20 independent clubs/coaches all helping each other. Again, why poach?

Secondly, you're like a bloody PR machine for the EBF, give it a rest. I noticed that you haven't commented on my 'reasons' for my comments - ie the charity night i almost lost! Why don't you ask Spencer, you know him so well. Ask about why 2 fighters were not allowed to fight on my show to help raise money? If you want the boxers names i'll even give you them (reluctantly) by email, as long as you make it clear that the boxers are unaware about this thread as i wouldn't want them to jeapardise future income from EBF bouts.

I've said it over and over, obviously the EBF works for you and that's good, but the fact that my show was threatened leaves me with a bitter taste.
ActionPromo's
Posted: 2010-10-13 08:09:32
correction above - should read one fighter application per week, on average.

Posted: 2010-10-13 08:55:56
it want you who spencer had the problem with it was the other man ,the one i called your mate ,iv forgot his name . i do no the reson why spencer wont work with him again and believe me nor would you if you new .

again im sorry about your show nearly been cancelled due to wot you think is spencers fault , he had good reson .

most of my boxers are low kick ,kickboxers, cage fighters .and we only box through the ebf if the work is there and it is most weeks ,but if there is no work with the ebf then we would be happy to fight on other shows .

when my fighter kickbox ,low kick they are not fighting for the ebf they are fighting for me and spencer as no problem with that at all , sometimes my lads fight in the cage for spencer and sometimes they fight through combatsport , spencer is not the bad man you think .

lol pr for ebf ,yes i suppose i am in away but only because iv worked for all the other orgs out there in the past and they did nothing for me at all, infact they caused great harm to me .

the ebf was the first org to treat me and mine fair thats why i joined them .

if you new me and my past with this fighting game i think you would under stand were im comming from and why i will stand up for people who as been fair with me ,the ebf are the only people who have been fair with me and my fighters so will defend them to the death .

I didn't realise you'd worked with Tom Murry's British Masters Boxing, or Pete's British Boxing Union, or with Sam Kynoch at SK Promotions... If you have worked with them then what was so wrong with them as i have not had a single problem as yet, albeit SK are quite new to us.
bridie murphy1
Posted: 2010-10-15 08:45:44
you will be suprised who iv worked with in boxing !!!i personaly havnt got a problem with the above you mentioned but the ebf have a problem with the BBU they have worked together before .

"lol pr for ebf ,yes i suppose i am in away but only because iv worked for all the other orgs out there in the past and they did nothing for me at all, infact they caused great harm to me ."

I don't quite understand you Bridie, you're loyal to the EBF because they treat you well - fair enough - but you say you worked for all the other orgs out there, etc..

So BBU and British Masters Boxing Organisation both did you more harm than good!?

By the way, i spoke to a fighter today up here, someone that i think you may know but whom i don't want to mention as it's not fair bringing his name into it as it might do his fight career harm, but he confirmed everything i said. I'm gonna drop this now as it's not leading anywhere, and we both have our opintions.
bridie murphy1
Posted: 2010-10-15 20:02:48
lol we all no fighters can tell a tail or two ,you should hear mine .

its easy to understand me ,the ebf was the first org to be on my side after working with lots of them ,in return i show loyelty ,like i said if you had phoned spencer him self and asked for some of his fighters im sure he would have said ok no problem.some how and i dont no how ,you said spencer thought it was a BBU show, correct ? and yes he as had problems with them .

you have no idea how big the ebf is or wot its about and the quality of fighters it produces ,all you have done is listen to 3 of your mates who fight or have fought for the ebf ,thats nothing to say how big the ebf is .

ActionPromo's
Posted: 2010-10-16 02:18:53
It's not a case of how big they are, that's irrelevant, and i was making my own judgement from what i know goes on 'IN MY AREA', nowhere else. I did ask for Spencer's number but the lads were scared to give it to me because i tend to get riled a bit quite easy and seeing as it was a kids charity that i am very close to i may have lost my temper and said things which may have jeopardised lad' own interests.

You keep going on about how wonderful they are, and i have acknowledged several times that they may be good for you and others, but from what i 'know', the boxers' best interests are far from top priority, where ticket sales seem to be.
bridie murphy1
Posted: 2010-10-17 18:18:06
the ebf is massive ,iv known about the ebf for years i fought for spencer years ago and i was happy working with him on the 2 fights i did with him . i then joined the ebf after seeing wot the pro fighting was all about lol lol if you look on every thred all the people are saying the same ,its not just me !!!!

all iv done is find away to put it right as far as i can .ie my fighters and other fighters i match for the ebf.

my 8 fighters fight records proves the fairness of the ebf ,they have won some ,lost some, drew some, and never sold a ticket away from home . so how is the ebf being unfair!!!!!!!please tell me because me and mine had hell of a lot more losses on our records in the pro game ,and its not because we cant fight ,dragonfoot / wardogs gym as got champions in there gym ,fighters who have fought at high level and fought hard fights .

before i joined the ebf a year ago , i was attending shows ,all kinds . and i saw boxing fights on kickboxing shows and then on thai shows and now in cage shows lol they are boxing in the cage now !!! . i prefer the ring my self .

it wasnt boxing i saw in the ring it was a scrap !! this is not BOXING . if a fighter gets in a boxing ring with no knowlage of real boxing ,they are going to get hurt and iv seen it a few times but not on the ebf shows , this was befor i joined the ebf . iv produced some good fighters over the past year and also looked after fighters from other gyms by matching them faily and worked with promoters i can trust . this is my experiance with the ebf over the past year .

in all the full year iv been appart of the ebf i have attended shows every week with fighters ,some times 2 and 3 times a week and i can put my hand on my heart and tell you i have only disagreed with 2 decissions in that time .

I don't know what your point is Bridie?

Haven't i already on numerous occasions acknowledged the fact that the promoters in your area must be doing a good job? I am only talking about my local area, nowhere else.

At the end of the day, ANY white collar organisation, whether EBF, BBU, BMBO, etc, are all just promotions pretending to be legitimate sanctioning bodies. Semi-pro/Unlicensed/White collar, whatever, will never be recognised other than shady operations whereby unregulated activity goes on.

ActionPromo's
Posted: 2010-10-20 16:26:26
It's what i think... End of the day organisations are trying to legitimise 'unlicensed' boxing by creating so called bodies to regulate them. However, i am yet to come across a body that is actually truly professional in organising unlicensed boxing, and that's including the ones i currently work with.

I think the ABA see unlicensed as a threat, i mean the majority of grown ups would probably prefer to earn a few quid to fight, and do it in an electric atmosphere than on the ABA circuit.
