Good move or bad move?

Says it may be his last fight or he may have another after.

If its his last fight it would need to be a huge name - Marquez pointless.

If Marquez is a stepping stone to a rematch with PBF or Manny then fair enough, but are his chances of winning against either so slim that this way of doing things is also pointless?

I think he could possibly beat PBF if PBF stays out of the ring until then, as age may also play a part (Roy Jones Jnr has shown nothing last forever).

Just seems to be same old same old, regurgitated because of their name without a thought to the fact their skill levels have diminished to such an extent that it is becoming a circus sideshow.

Where are the new stars, the upandcoming types that generate excitement and interest?

Seems to be a real dearth at the minute.

I know we've spoken about this before but Hatton really should fight Khan now. Especially if it is to be his last contest. A big farewell at a stadium in Manchester, the promotion would be HUGE.

Hatton should keep the cash he`s made and concentrate on running his gym and being a promoter!Ricky is starting to play dangerous games with his decisions and his health and well being. He`s been beaten badly (so do the right thing and retire for your own sake mr Hatton with your dignity intact) X

If it for 1 last fight Hatton should fight marquez at wembley or man citys stadium. That would be a great name on his resume and would sell out making a bucket load of money for both fighters. Or bradley to prove hes still top dog in the division and retire on top.

If he wants another couple of fights fighting bradley could be a good option for this 2. hes regarded as number 1 in the division (pacs ranked at 147 now i believe) and if he beats him hes straight back in at number 1 and could set up another big fight. Would be a good fight for bradley too coz the fight will do big numbers due to hatton being invovled and a win would put him in with the big players where he wants to be.

Dont think he should fight khan think khan would win it. Especially with roach in his corner as roach has his number.

Also Cotto could make for a good fight.

Marquez wouldnt be a great name to go out to though would he? Half the people who follow Hatton wouldnt have a clue who he was.

Thats why I can only assume this must be a eliminator for a PBF type fight, if the rumours of Marquez are correct.

maybe not to casual fans but to anybody who knows about boxing he definitely is. hes regarded as 1 of the biggest names on pacs resume aswell so why not hattons? hes ranked number 5 pound 4 pound and number 1 lightweight. hes also a legend in his own country. I think it would be a huge name on his resume. just my opinion tho.

I agree with what you say as regards boxing fans, but Hattons popularity bypasses that and moves into non-boxing fans, so I think he needs a REAL big name to finish with to keep everyone happy.

In his last few fights any half decent head-shot that landed either KO'd him or it looked like it could. What happens if he doesn't win his next one? Just continue until he does? He's popular with the fans and I would tune into his next fight but how long will that continue. He's been a two weight world champ and only lost twice to the best fighters of his generation. He's a few million in the bank, now a successful promoter and gym owner and has all his marbles intact, what's his problem, lol.

he's always taken so much punishment in his fights, when you pictures of him afterwards he looks like he lost even when he won! Taking the punishment he has has to catch up with you at some point. That together with his lifestyle between fights, it cant be good for the body and/or a pro athlete. someone once said " its time to retire when you start asking when is it time to retire". The fact ricky has thought about retiring says it all. Is the hunger and commitment still there? I'd rather see him fight Khan, rather than anyone else, just to see how he copes.

khan would beat him. Thing is with hatton hes only lost 2 times in his career and both of those wer against fighters who at the time wer regarded as the best on the face of the earth. People keep coming out with how his punch resistance has gone, jesus hes been knocked out twice once after taking about a million shots off floyd and again when pac hit him with a shot that woulda kod a bloody horse.

i think we give pacman too much credit for what he did to hatton PBF had destroyed him as a fighter before that. I reckon khan wud beat him now but from a spectator point of view its the most intresting fight out there for him

pacquaio deserves all the credit for that KO on hatton, that was a sickening KO, hatton looked dead!

Given the correct prep, Hatton would beat Khan convincingly.

Like saying Chelsea would get def get beaten against Spurs just because they have lost to Brazil and Germany.

He is only 31 for flips sake and loads of fighters befor him have been mullered and its been business as usual in the next fight.

Not many have been mullered ONLY against the p4p best in the world though and there is HUGE gulf between those two and Khan.

Agreed speed kills, but so does Hattons left crashing into a glass chin.

Theyve got to get it on soon havent they, just to put the argument to bed as anyone who likes boxing will be having the same convo.

Do you reckon it will ever happen?
