Cant wait for this :) Jose vs Jord rematch from contender, echo what Liam said Jose sound and love him but ill have 100 on Jord aswell?? Maria seemed decent, high work rate but Anna so awkward and can make even the best fighter not look so great, defo think Sarah will take this, confidence is flying high after her best performance yet beating Bonnie and Kyle v Ant would be a good fight but Kyles a British title to win first so lets see how him and Loz get on :)

Thanks alot to Richard for managing to arrange the rematch with Dean where both looking forward to it, was chatting the other day, and a massive thanks to Dan green and Dean/Tony for taking the fight, alot of people avoid rematches and its good to see some people do just want to fight. Cheers lads. x

Just realised this was up on ax, very excited for this show as you can imagine, its gonna be great. You know im up for a bet liam/andy, how about i bet you's both, if i win i get £100 each from both of you, if i loose yous two get £50 each? Damage limitation if i loose see, as my MAD world title will be hard enough to deal with haha.

Anyway bets aside im really looking forward to fighting jordan again, last time we met it was in the contender tourney so didnt have time to prepare for anyone in particular, jordans flying high at the moment so im bound to be the underdog, i always like it better that way ;) and jordans fighting in-front of his home crowd! i predict fireworks, bring on may 7th

ANT V DAVEY MAC! All day long, lets get it on!
liam badco
Posted: 2011-02-04 05:17:32
theyve fought before Davy won Clearly, if ant has some more big wins and can make 57kg then maybe but at the moment its pointless for Davy really hes beaten Ste Meleady, John Dick 2x since then and just had a good win in thailand.
KaangRaangRosco
Posted: 2011-02-04 08:00:37
yep i see what your saying mate. But ant isnt the same fighter he was then, and has a couple big fights lined up before may so you know....if no one else is stepping up to fight davey domestically why not

if ant gets slapped in those fights before may then fair enough! lol
liam badco
Posted: 2011-02-04 08:48:17
lol fair point...can he still make 57kg? he was 59-60 last time they fought and his last fight 61.5?

But only he knows if he can or not really so over to the dog.....

liam i hear ya m8 but yeah if nobody else steps up and im sure like me davy wants to stay busy then dont see why not? i really rate davy n think his a top bloke also!!! would be an honor to fight him and i would train my ars off 4 him to make it a close and competitve fight!! and that means cuming in on weight also

Mr Smith
Posted: 2011-02-10 14:37:18
I dont think everyone gives Imran a hard time. He's a great guy, lovely person and a great fighter and I have all the time in the world for him. Anyone who puts their name to their posts on Ax and anyone who I talk to says the same.

However I think he has one or two fans on here that rub people up the wrong way and unfortunately he gets the blame. I would love to have Imran fighting on my show but he's having time out at the moment so it wont happen.

Weigh In Pics etc?
Mr Smith

Yes Tat2 Ingram gym was a pain to get to. Jitti was there before Andy's time I think he scrounged them from somewhere he's never bought a pair of shorts in his life.

The weigh in went fine - Andy was 54.9kg, Dean 55.00 bang on.

Kris Addis and Chris Shaw both weighed 72.7.

Loz Reilly was 61.5 and Brian had to skip a bit off and eventually made 62.4.

All good - game on for tomorrow.

There will still be tickets available on the door.

This is Andy's last fight. He's been involved in the best fights of the year fir the last few years and is one of the toughest fighters I've ever seen.

This is the final part of the Howson, Trainor, James trilogy.

Didnt get to see kenzie s fight but heard he fought great.
Bailey really showed his class and strength against a game opponent!
Big Ed fought the best fight i think i ve ever seen from someone on his 2nd fight.........so relaxed and picked every shot beautifully!!
Chris Shaw was best i ve seen him and super sharp, cut Kris badly round 3, made up for him but gutted for Kris Addis, both top top guys.
Only saw a bit of Loz and as usual finished strong and strong knees!!
Lee Mundin and Jo Boffy was a good fight, brilliant last 2 rounds from Lee, think both will have sore legs tommorow mind you, booted each others legs right off!!
Andy v Dean was great, Dean s timing and his kness and elbows are deadly, cut Andy 2nd round, Andy was fighting great round 3 and looked really strong then got dropped with an elbow from the clinch i think, round 4 got cut again really badly so went absolutely insane like only he can and had the crowd going wild but cuts were too bad so stopped in the 4th.........If this was Andys last fight he really did go out in style and the uk has lost its most exciting fighter ever!! I guaranteee that if you ask most people their favourite fighter to watch most would say Andy, showed what a true champion he is as well by the way he congratulated Dean and put the belt on him! total legend of uk muay thai

Great show by mr smith it was the first time I had been to the town hall and its an amazing venue.

Just to say a big well done to chris shaw, he's always been a strong, technically very good fighter with soo much potential to go to the very top. Now he knows how to control a fight and score better rather than just wanting to go at 100mph lol he's going to be even more dangerous.

It was some cut, Iv only seen someones head bleed like that in horror movies lol

Just wanna say thanks to mr smith for matching me on this great promotion, also to pierre for all his hard work with me. Chris Shaw is a great lad and i feel really proud of myself that i shared the ring with one of the best 72kg fighters in the country, also felt i was holding my own til i got elbowed lol, just one of those things i guess. All the best to chris and team for the future..x

A big thank you to Richard for showing his usual hospitality and professionalism over the weekend; we were really well looked after in Leeds as per usual. While I didn’t get to see most of the fights, I was reliably informed there were some excellent fights. Leeds Town hall has seen some great shows, with great fights and great drama always professionally staged.

I am gutted I missed the battle between Chris (Shaw) and Kris (Addis) both great fighters who seem to get better with every fight and always conduct themselves with real dignity. I can’t wait for the DVD, it sounded a like an exciting and bloody affair with some excellent Muay Thai skills displayed. The judges, Dave, Rob and Maxine did a great job as usual and Darren did an excellent and very professional job in the ring.

I am not sure what I can add to what has already been said about Dean and Andy’s ISKA world title war, but I will try. This fight dispelled any ideas that two friends meeting in the ring might hold back too much to make an exciting fight. This was a battle in which no quarter was asked or given. Richard said in an earlier post that he thought “...Andy v Dean [fight] is going to be fight of the decade” and it certainly proved to be a real contender for that accolade. This was a real battle that had superb Muay Thai skills, real edge of the seat excitement and high drama. Dean was clinical and cool throughout and Andy proved he is a true warrior right until the end.

Early in the fight, Andy looked strong and determined managing to throw Dean and kick him off his feet. However, Dean never looked phased and used superb timing, distancing and vision to strike with real venom. Andy put hard kicks into Dean’s leg when he caught kicks and teeps and Dean replied shaking Andy with punches and knees, and cutting and then dropping him with an elbow. It is testament to Andy’s warrior spirit that when he was hurt, he was at is most dangerous, attacking ferociously in the fourth after Dean opened up another gaping wound in Andy’s forehead with a diving elbow. Dean remained calm and clinical in the face of the storm as Andy attacked like a man possessed. Attacking relentlessly Andy gave everything he had but the damage done was too great and blinded by blood the referee decided he was only going to get injured more in the ensuing melee.

Not only did Andy prove he was a true warrior by going out on his shield, he also showed the mark of a great fighter showing his generously by publically acknowledging the quality of Dean’s performance before he confirmed his own retirement in a speech to his fans. Andy has been a credit to his coach, his gym and to the UK. He has been involved in some epic battles against some outstanding opponents; I have struggled to think of a boring or mediocre fight Andy has been part of and I have watched, judged and refereed quite a few. Andy walked from the ring with his head held high to cheers and he deserved every clap and cheer. Andy, you will be sadly missed as a combatant in the ring my friend, but I know your legacy will endure and you will continue to help elevate UK Muay Thai.

As for Dean, I couldn’t be more proud of you mate. You have made me and everyone at Pra Chao Suaa gym very proud. You are an outstanding fighter, with excellent skills, and a brilliant attitude – even if you do moan sometimes in training ;) The really exciting thing for me is that Dean is not the finished article and will get considerably better still. He is adding to his impressive arsenal with every fight, but there is still more to come. Well done Dean mate; brilliant performance all round.

Thanks Tony for your kind words and of course for your support.

Thanks to everyone who supported this show - fighters, trainers and fans. It ran really well and I genusinely think there were some of the most exciting fights we've had on the show.

The standard in the UK is rising so fast that even the lower level experience fights are really good.

The DVD will be available as of Wednesday and can now be ordered at www.badcompanyshop.co.uk. Its a 2 DVD set with all the action of every fight filmed in HD with full commentary.

Its £16 plus P&P - the main fight is worth that on its own!
