Thanks Liam, seems odd that it's billed as 'amateur' then. I've heard your going to be at Sapphire MMA for Si's 100 round sparathon for Alder Hey hospital. Si said could you do round 100 cause he wants to be pushed hard (joke Si, don't chin me on Saturday).

This is the last call for all English fighters to step forward and be chosen to represent their country in the biggest staged amateur event.

Steve, in defence of the England Reps it has been a really busy busy weekend,i know they were up till way gone midnight sorting last minute pullouts, making teams etc and other things out on Friday then weigh ins at 6 am on Sat and Sunday, dealing with the constant questions and queries from the teams, registrations, the medicals, the NEC, Security, media, Hotels and everything else is a lot for 2/3 guys to do, all credit to the UKMF England reps and the helpers for pulling this mammoth task off.

I'm shattered now at this stage but we won 10 fights from 14 fighters so we're over the moon, Lots of Golds :) and in fairness Lee is spot on the English Officials had very long days, I was with them from about half six in the morning doing the weigh in's and they were still going till very late so bare with them.
Also have to say we were treated Fantastically over the whole weekend, We met some great people who are so genuine about our sport, and trying to bring it in the right direction and should be commended for this.
Well done lads...

A better post now i am no so tired. lol

Apologies 1st as i didnt mean to forget the officials from other Nations who all worked very very hard helping the show run smoothly etc. very tired yesterday.
the judging was mostly spot on imo, the referees did a good job too.

a great event that showed Muay Thai in a good light, i was mingling with the crowd in between fights and talking to spectators and watching reactions from the public and marrtial artists alike.

i was asked many times about scoring etc by numerous different Martial Artists present and explained it to the best of my knowledge also explaining the difference between Amateur and Pro.
Muay Thai definately made some new fans including some of the personalities present who were seeing a live event for the first time. one or two were asking about classes and PT in their areas also and i referred them to the UKMF stand and website.

moving forward slowly but moving forward nontheless
