best juniors out there? whos the best at what weight etc? after all they are the future of muaythai. i was really empressed with the talent of evan on his earlier birthday thread. my 5 yr old son has started training at wickercamp and would be good to see how the juniors fight. feel free to upload your favourite juniors fights.
just tried uploading one of my junior fights from youtube.. (paul chilli carnell) can not do. can anyone help with this? cheers
We have some great juniors at our club.my great nephew Corey mclachlan,Scott Ferguson,t.j Everett and my stepson conar Campbell in only his 5th fight had a great battle at the weekend with young Thai barlow.we also have younger kids who really are showing brilliant technique.thats just our kids but some of the young talent at the Scottish open was outstanding.
Hey Paul , all the scots lads that Martin mentions above are fighting at our event in Barnsley on 2nd july..
Most of The best juniors from all over the uk & ireland are fighting with over 40 junior bouts...
facebook thread...
www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=157725390952174
Keith and Martin's gym Eclipse has some really good juniors as mentioned above. Brad Newlands from Caledonian and JP Gallacher from Douglas MT are really skillfull too. I think Jordan Coe from our gym will be one to watch for the future aswell. He's strong as an ox and trains harder than 99% of adults. Practically got to drag him out the gym. lol. The general skill level at the Scottish Championships was awesome aswell and just shows that the technical ability from all clubs is going in the right direction.
Kane chamberlain assassins muay Thai is awesome not sure which weight think it's 60-65
Aye he is quality, would b a good fight for most adults
CRaig Walton George Mann Markus Macdonald Reece lochridge from douglas muay thai are all really skillful
also Ricky sewell , Daniel McG !
hundreds more lol but not gunna name em all lol
........said it before- best juniors ( albeit senior JNR's now ) from Dean Whites Gym- Jordan Kilbride etc
Dale Smith from Crawley Lumpini also very good from what i've seen of him!
amber kitchen is the best under 45kg junior female in britain.isaac ashley is the best under 45kg junior male in britain.
dan mcgowen (liams gym)best by far in the uk 45kg i think
Ricky sewell becomming very strong and technical also at 59kg
isaacs record is 26w 4l 2d,he hold 4 british titles inc ukmf.
if juniors fought under adult rules then dan would be the best-no arguement (if he can make 45kg) but they dont as no sanctioning body will allow it---result being isaac best junior in britain

Its not to often i come on Ax to big up my son Daniel McGowan....but i feel a mention on this thread is deserved....On the same weekend in April that 3 of the best fighters in this country Liam Harrison, Damien Trainer and Julie Kitchen were fighting top Thai opponents and taking the sport in this countrty to new levels....our Daniel fought and won against a good up and coming Thai in Rajadamnern Stadium....he was the 2nd youngsest Farang to have ever fought there and the youngest to have ever won!!...... I honestly would fancy his chances with anyone at his weight with the exception of maybe top Thai junior fighters and thats only because of the amount of ring time/experience they get over him!!! I hope this dosnt come across as cocky in anyway im just really proud of him and feel that he is one of the best up and coming fighters in the uk where there seems to be some absolute cracking young fighters coming through!!! UK Muay Thai has a bright future for sure!!!
just to clear things up i cant make 45kg anymore haha! i'm around 47-48kg
Nice one Paul-
good to see a young British talent taking it to the Thais in their own back yard...
how old is wonder boy amd what weight is he fighting at?
there is a lot of young talent coming through now, JP Gallacher, Ricky Sewell (although he'll be fighting adult rules after july 2nd), Danny Hendle, eclipse muay thai has a load of good juniors corey and TJ i've seen and Evan Jays from benfleet is quslity just watched his little highlight video! Isaac's a good fighter also theres loads in a few years Muay Thai in the UK will be big!
Thanks Pom....he is 15 yrs old and about 48kg at the minute.....and growing ha ha!!! Hopefully hes going back to Thailand to fight in the near future as the promoter wants him back.
daniel mcgowan - all the lads from liams gym are ace but he fights above his years, he is mint
ricky sewell- strong and technical fighter who can do alot of damage
evan jays - absoloutley mint technique and a tough lad
isaac ashley - very good fighter and good technique
and defo all the lads from ECLIPSE MUAY THAI !!! ( tj and corey in particular )
i also think bailey and kenzie roberts from bad co defo worth a mention, they are both brilliant n i think they will both go far :)
wait til dan is 18,no-1 will touch him,the next jordan watson for definite.
i think as a junior he has too much to give under junior rules, isaac has offered the match under junior rules, but i agree with liams gym in not wanting to take a step back to junior rules.whichever way he goes, both dan,his dad are brilliant for the sport and will always have our support and i will always try and match him on our shows if i can help x
Isaac is class 2 for sure
tj everett
evan jay
class

Not sure if this is just fore Thai fighters, but will throw my two pennies in anyway.
Brandon "Samurai" Short. SaXon Gym Birmingham
15yrs 47.5kg
16F 14W 1L 1D 7 Stoppages
Only loss was too his own sparring partner in the final of British open championships.
He's tall, rangey, unorthadox, southpaw, hits like someone ten Kg's heavier than he is, and has a kicking style that rips opponents in two.
Anyones worst nightmare, definately one for the top.
Is Isaac matched to fight on the Celtic Challenge?
No Dan pure Full contact.
isaac's matched for celtic champs against the ever improving scot ferguson from Eclipse
looking forward to july 2nd then when 2 of the best juniors in Ireland fight 2 of the best in Britain..
Dillon O Connor vs Ricky Sewell
Bethany Barrett vs Amber Kitchin
Daniels great I know parnpetch put a lot of time and effort into him and it's really paid off!! 10yrs from now the UK's standard will be evan higher!
Oh and of course Daniels own ambition and hard work adds to that!
would love to see some footage of these boys mentioned
Dont know if my 2 are the best but they're certainly 2 of the hardest working kids in the country. Mitchell (7), Kray (6),total of 67 trophies/cups/medals etc between them last year and 17 so far this year.
http://www.youtube.com/user/mitchel1230?feature=mhee
link to my utube channel vids of them training
Brandon short vs rob Bennett would be a good fight
Cant argue with Isaac being no.1 @45k just look at his record and achievements. but that is as Nath said , junior rules. Dan is fighting adult rules now and after fighting and beating a thai FTR who can blaim him. Dan is gonna be a monster by the time he is 18 years old no doubt about it he just needs to leave the 1/4lb'ers alone...
I also can't see anyone slowing down Amber Kitchen either.
Going to shows like the junior champs is inspiring, the leevel of some of the kids is immense.
Ellie Burridge(Mersey Thai)recon shes the best 12y female 42kg in Britain at the moment
Hope she didn't get served here Paul!
ha ha i asked her to go in for me ;-P
did ellie go to the brits ?
there you go sandy, amber v ellie.
sounds perfect x

Any of the Best Juniors want to fight Regis Sugden aged 15 under K1 /Oriental Rules on September 10th Kelham Hall.
Email me please if you have an experienced Muay Thai fighter 60kg aged 15 to 17 who is willing to fight under K1 / Oriental rules.
Regis is a very exp Full Contact fighter with 5f 5w under K1 rules under his belt.
He will fight anyone 15 to 17 years of age. If you have any ideas please post on here or email me if you serious.
He has beaten the Best in Scotland Aaron Town, the best in Ireland Dillon O Connor and the best in Portugal Alexandra Sousa under these rules.
Who is the best in England? There must be someone out there in England who will step up to the mark.
This is not a call out but a genuine request for opponents.Regis is keen to compete home and away under these rules.
Respect
Dean@newarkmartialarts.co.uk
might be worth posting his weight
It does say 60kg:-)
He can make -60kg but is growing...
Cheers Deano have you coaches details?
Kane chamberlain assasains muay thai would be a good fight dean :)
Also we tj everett is fantastic and another from eclipse connor Campbell who is improving every fight defo one to watch !
.......Dean
Wouldnt get too excited mate-
think Danny Hendle is too young / small to fight yer boy Regis!!!
BTW if no one fancies fighting him under his own rules why not step up to the mark and get HIM to fight MT rules?
Just an idea like.......
dannys only 36-38kg i think
Dont think hes that to be honest bout 34kg i will ask his dad
His dad just txt me 35-37kg
remember this fight bill judd? innan v chilli? 1994 age 14.
do you have our title fight from 1995/96?
I think assasins and Semtex have A lot of great kids, I have max mcvicker, fay hand, Paige Hughes, Morgan mountford, Zach cauchi, Kobi hunn, niamh kinehan all doing well for beastmasters gym! Plus some new less exp ones coming through too!
Have spoke to Mark Barlow re Kane but he is not able to make the weight. Also his fighter at 58 /60kg is not available on 10th Sept either.
Pom Deng...
Re Regis...His original fighting Style is Full Contact, he has been competing under K-1 for last year and really enjoys it. That would be our preference at this point but would consider any matches put forward.
We have Jimmy Kram making a return to the ring under K1 rules and Chad, Regis older brother fighting under K1 rules.
The show is going to be the best yet at Kelham Hall. Anyone who been will tell you the venue and promotion is second to none.
Just looking a quality opponent.
Cheers
Dean
'Soldier of Love'.
...F**kin hell!!!!........no elbows then?
BTW- i know it was a while back but someone has to name and shame the judge ( facing the camera ) with the Magnum P.I. 'tache!!!
daniel mcgowan is an absolute brute very good fighter and got heart, his determination and commitment speaks for itsself, i expect big things for mcgowan in the next 2-3 years, with this year being getting fights and experience and getting some names under his belt, daniel for sure the next jordan watson. Issac ashley very strong and just a big bully he will for sure be up there in the future, im so glad im not too old so i cna follow them right into their 40's looool
no elbows pal. got a few knees to the face in tho. i fought the same kid for my british title a year later which was a real war. unfortunately that was when betamax videos was about. so really hard to get my fights. and never mind the tache.... what the fook my mum done to my hair? lol
My lad is 15yrs old 59kg will fight sugden at K1 if it is proper K1 rules 3x3 no shinpads
carnage fab cambodian rules all the way
Liam regis won't take the shin & insteps of till he gets paid plus he has another fight 4 weeks later so dont make any sense. So is your lad definately up for the fight? It will be k-1 rules just with shin& insteps. I am not fussed about the duration and would be happy to agree to 3 x 3's if this helps secure the fight?
Liam - Please email me if your boy will take the fight...
Cheers & Thanks
dean@newarkmartialarts.co.uk
..........Soldier- pardon my puddin'-
hadnt realised that was actually you fighting there mate!!!
yeah- love that half a coconut hair cut........
( looked good on William the Conqueror back in 1066 when it was trendy aswell!!! ) ;)
cheaky bastxxd. that was in fashion then. it was called the fria tuck special from mr t's on park hill. dont usually let whites in there but i was special lol.
whats happened to pom deng? insults me about my fantastic hair cut then just disappears, swinging from the rafters like a bat!
Threads like this are obviously about opinion and of course the best way to substanciate your claim is to put it to the test. Thai guys got there chance at the British championships last month. Roll on the JFCC championships in November, when the FC lads and lasses will be able to stake their claim to number 1 spot. For now though 26th June, Newark JFCC and BLCC show should be a good earm up event. Amd of course Jon Greens 9th July show.
Danny m from liams gym the future.
Insane for youngun
blakrose was this thai v kick?
Paul thats kb..
Alot of GBs top thai juniors are on at the metrodome Barnsley 2nd july..
sorry cant do it padded up, no point, its a step back for my fighter. dont mind finding a show they can get a purse on
thai guys had there chance? thought you meant it was a tournement for thai and kick. sorry misunderstood
also kane chamberlain is good and strong for his weight.
anyone got any footage of your favourite juniors fighting? even put one of my fights up to give you a kickstart.
Liam
What is your juniors name age and weight?
Regis is only 15, dont expect he will get paid till he is 17. I would be keen to hear from you though if the match is good and ur boy really wants to fight then we will be there.
We have contacted Kane's camp but he cant make 60kg anymore.
Cheers
Dean
we used to get paid as juniors. we would get sponsors and donate 50% of what we earned to nspcc. had some very generouse neighbours as a kid and sometimes ended up with a couple of hundred per fight. worth thinking about.
hanna smyth 35kg 3f 3wins holds northwest junior title and wka english title trains under nigel green (greenway)
I seen young lad minus 60kg fight recently from assasins gym, sure he won the Thai at open British tournament recently... Very good all round fighter and defo one too watch out for...
Much Respect
Ronnie
Gavin Sheehan representing Sitjaipetch, from Cork, Ireland. Won the Four Nations Junior Tournament in Birmingham about a month ago Best Junior Irish Figther at 52-55kg.

yeh mason poppy IS the best junior in britain at 59kg no probs.he just smashed my kid at the semtex show.he fights like a thai adult.very strong and i don't think theres many that would live with him.built like a tank too.he's now with minatours
How old is Mason Poppy just out of interest :-)?
was told he is 15,but he's built more like an 18 year old
will he fight K-1 if he will can you forward me details of his coach to dean@newarkmartialarts.co.uk
many thanks
dean

best Juniors out there?
Gladiators in mersyside / wirral
go on `Gary Richards` facebook
hes got over 250 titles / belts
he hates me for a Question i asked?
how?
Wow that is an achievment!! Well done to those involved! I do however have to ask the same as Sandy Holt above, how do the gym have so many titles? I follow both Muay Thai and kickboxing and I have never come across the gym/trainers name in any ranking system/Muay Thai website that I no of. Just makes me wonder what the titles are under? I only no of WMC, UKMF, WRSA, ISKA, Golden Belt, IKF, WBF and probably one or two I cant think of!

Leo is far too strong for Gavin at the moment, now Leo is 18 be a good fight Leo v Dean James
Im 16 and walk around at 52 ya leo would be way to strong but in the future it would be a massive opportunity
Rebecca Caslin - 49kg - age 14- would have to put in this category - looking for fights

Pom Deng that was a few years back though, Ricky is a different fighter now and think he'd be a handful for most people at that weight now, i'd love to see him fight Dale again!
Dan
Dale Smith was way better / technically superior than Sewell in that fight but perhaps Ricky may have caught up a 'tad' in the skills department by now.
Sounds like someone should arrange this fight then!!!
jamie whelan (semtexgym) had a war with dale last weekend- only just turned 17!
A contentiuos question for those with an opinion in Full Contact.
Who is the best Jnr F/C fighter in Britain today at -50kg maximum age of 15yrs
..
And yes I am on a fishing mission.
Ben Taylor derby panthers :)
Yeah Good call Peri but there must be a good few others at that age for that weight, as it is a bit of an average for fit lads to be at.
Only others I can think of mate are
Ben Mitchell 3 lions
Rob Bennett Scorpio
Adam Jensen kue ling
Armand cubrevic dragonfoot
Cristian Joplin Masac
Oliver beal Newark
Reece Hutchinson masac
Ricky is still only 15, and is a completely different fighter than he was 6 months ago. And is now a force to be reckoned with, re match with Jamie and Dale would be more than justified.uk juniors are looking real good now. Well done to them all
i second what chris said! i watched ricky fight jamie nearly a year ago and i thought ricky won it personally but i no for a fact he can be beat jamie or dale now, definately get the rematch on :)
As said above I did fight Dale on King of Kings back in Nov 2009. This was to be my first head contact fight and I was up against a fighter that was very successful in ABA's and didn't really know what to expect. Yes it was a comfortable win for Dale, probably winning every round! We were supposed to have a rematch April of last year but I believe Dale had broken his hand so had to pull out unfortunately. I wouldn't of said Dale was technically superior, he was just stronger and never gave me a chance to get started and answered with stronger techniques. As you say that was 2 years ago and a lot can change in that time! Anyway, IMO Daniel McGowan is without a doubt the best junior in the country at the moment, and proved that with his performance and Pete Spensley's last Barnsley Show. Evan Jays, Tj Everett, Thai Barlow, Connor Butler and Kailan (Wigan) are also up there with the best in the country and always putting on increasingly good performances and putting on more entertaining and exciting fights than many adult main events! As far as im aware there all fighting at 33-36kg which is easily the most competive junior category in the UK!
.......this looks like a 'Liams Gym' love in to me..... LOL!!!
we have some talented young guns in my gym, that i feel should be mentioned..Harley macleod has been around for 6+ years now and has fought a lot of these lads mentioned. in the last month alone he has won the junior-45kg ringmasters title, the 42kg celtic challenge title and last weekend the UKMF BRITISH 43 kg title. he has had 50+ outings. hes training partner Kieran parker is also promising having won the UKMF ENGLISH -37kg belt, and last week the IKF BRITISH title.. jamie whelan 60kg 17yrs 3 c class fights has beaten ricky sewell, recently had a war with Dale smith, is also one to watch..
who are u pom deng?
ive no idea who these previous fights are, i think when ricky came to me he had lost to most juniors lol his record was 50-50 losses to wins and i could tell why. he has now improved massively and does not fight junior rules, pillow fights wearing a duvet do not suit his new style. He has been fighting adults and C class bouts since he made his debut for my gym and has 3f 3w two coming by KO in the 1st round.
Id be happy for him to fight any of these kids providing it was proper rules as i do not believe there is another fighter same age at 58.5kg that can beat him. talk on here before of him losing by stoppage is ridiculous he is about as tough as i have seen before you could throw him in with an A class adult and he may well lose on pts or from a cut but no chance is he getting cleaned out or stopped he is in too good condition and too strong. hope that puts that one to bed. any pillow fight offers no thanks, keep that one from cambridge tripe.
........I'm Pom Deng!!!
..a fan of Muay Thai!!!!
