A truly amazing fight, great respect off both guys!
I know and have trained with both and last night saw such a high skill level!
Marlon you are true warrior, sometimes very verbal, but only because you approach what you do with a passion, but last night I was even more proud of you for the way you presented yourself to Joe, the officials and the massive audience.
So respect on both sides and well done gentlemen.
Sandy take a look here!....

Following the result of a certain fight tonight the next fight we are pleased to announce is none other than:
Andrew Tate (Storm Gym) vs Joe McGovan (SDF Sheffield)
Under oriental rules this is the cruiserweight battle that the whole country has been waiting to see! McGovan tonight (11 December) just won his first world title against non-other than multiple World Champion Marlon Hunt to cap a great year. World full contact champion Tate too has had a fantastic 2011 successfully switching to fighting K1 rules at top level, blasting his way through Enfusion and winning his ISKA title fight. Both fighters are bangers, both are on a roll, expect total fireworks!
Fireworks is a defo on this, I have to favor Tate for this fight though.

Im sure youll remember McGovan from my show where he Drew with Matt Montague?
I think his PRO Record is 7-0 or something?
I also know he has had quite a lot of Amateur fights maybe about 10 or 11?
He won the ISKA Amateur British Title in February 2010 on my show 1st round with a knee to the body
His PRO Fights that i am aware of,
1.Jakub Strelz (nottingham pirates), this was on AFK superleague
KO 1st round knee to the head.
2.Richard Brass ( Essex?) ,this was on their own show Steel City I think that one might have been for a WAKO- PRO title
KO 1st round knee to the head
3.Cant Remember his name , but hes from an unlicensed boxing background. KO 1st round, punch knockdown followed by a knee finish
4.Italian guy , Dan Greens show. 1st Round KO, Punch
5.Brent Tierney (spartans) , Big Pete's show
KO 2nd round Leg Kicks
6.Shaun Lomas (sheffield) , this was on Steel City show again.
KO 1st round, knockdown with head kick and finish with a knee to the head.
This was for the WFKKO European Title.
7.Marlon Hunt ( well this is the topic of this thread!)
I am unaware of any other PRO Fights but hes had quite a few Amateur bouts.
Proof that the breeding ground of the Amateur Circuit working well.
So him and Tate both knock out artists, this isn't going the distance!
Was a great close fight and enjoyed every min of it.
We were banging the crap out of each other over the 5 rounds and just smiling at each other after.
Want to say big thanks for the org, promoter and joe for giving me the opportunity to fight and made us feel really welcome.
Joe is a lovely bloke in and out of the ring and will go far in the sport and he already knows I'll help him anyway I can.
The way I was treated in sheffield during and after the fight was great as they saw two sportsman do what they love.
Hopefully it also showed them that kickboxers don't just have flicky kicks lol
I do all of my talking in the ring and am always respectful, but Yes I can be verbal sometimes but only cause I love the sport and stick up for what I believe in.
People that personally know me will agree.
You can love me or hate me I've competed for 21 years, put healthy lifestyle and eating and anti bullying projects into place in local schools, do all I can for my community, made champions from area to world in various styles, myself won 9 pro Fc World titles and a K1 rules world title, ducked no one and only lost 4x in well over 100 ring bouts and will continue to do what I do :)
I'm looking at winning 2 more world titles so I can do a charity calender for help for heroes and your support when it comes out would be great.
After seeing both fight I think joe will win because all of tates opponents have been runaway fighters apart from scott gibson who stood toe to toe with him and knocked him out.
Will be a short fight whichever way it goes for defand god luck to both, but joe and team you know I'm just a call away for help.
7 fights to become a world champion?
I dont know marlon hunt or joe mcgoven and not seen any fight, and im not trying to discredit anyone at all.
7fights, 7 wins plus 8 Am fights (6W - 2L) (already British & Euro Champ) not a bad record, then backs those stats up by beating Marlon Hunt who is a legitimate multiple World champ.
Suppose the old say goes how many you beat but who you beat?
To be the best, you have to beat the best, and Joe has just done that.
Credit where credit is due for the Win over Marlon!
However the "european title" for the Fight against Shaun Lomas in my opinion was a bit suspect. Shaun is a brave Fighter and very experienced but in my opinion and the opinion of many is NOT European title standard.
The fight with Tate will take both fighters into the Big Time whoever wins..
If shaun is not european level, im sure there was a thread about him fightinhg marlon hunt for a world title? Again, not trying to discredit anyone, buy isnt this the problem with this sport? Up and comers with just a few fights going for world championships. I dont mean to offend anyone, just trying to get my point/opinion across.
Paul123,
Shaun has had LOADS of fights, unfortunately, hes taken too many blows and is no longer at his best. As a result, he loses a hell of a lot.
I dont think Marlon considers him a genuine world class opponent either.
I dont mean any disrespect for Shaun who is a true Warrior.
However Shaun i think is better at MMA than at kickboxing. He has beaten 100kg plus guys in MMA.
I disagree tate has fought runaway fighters, Paul Randle was one example of a forward fighter... and his loss to Gibson was some 5 years ago or something. I would say Tate is most dangerous on the backfoot. Don't know much on the other guy but it should be an explosive fight :D
Tate could knock people out from any angle as his accuracy and power are 2nd to none! He has showed this in FC, K1 and Pro MMA!
